It's not just the US that's repressing its people.
In Belgium, five climate activists are being prosecuted for participating in a peaceful protest against the airport of Antwerp back in 2023. They face up to one year in prison.
Except … three of them weren't even a part of the action. One of the others had their arm and fingers broken by the police, who clearly weren't as keen on nonviolence as the protesters.
The justice system in this country is a farce.

@npub1m26…2jhh Fun fact: Kitty's dev does not really care about optimizing startup speed and regularly makes this clear. See https://github.com/kovidgoyal/kitty/issues/330 and https://github.com/kovidgoyal/kitty/issues/4292#issuecomment-981090208.
I roughly had the same experience with Kitty and then just switched back to xfce's default, because I realized I didn't really need any of Kitty's goodies.
