Alright! In case you missed the news, today I have resigned from my current position, as I have another job lined up!
**Some final stats about this year job search**
- I have sent 40 applications in ~14 days, most found on LinkedIn and NoFluffJob (both have very effective search, can recommand)
- Out of all the application, 12 sent me a rejection; so exactly 30% negative response rate
- I got 1 (one) interview, went through the 3 rounds and got the offer at the end
- Sadly I didn't get hired by someone who found me on Mastodon, but that was worth a try haha
For comparison, 2 years ago I sent around 26 applications only, got maybe 8 responses with 2 positive for an interview; but I was targetting Junior roles in France back then so a different game.
I'm saying this publicly so that you know:
- yes yes people still get hired in this economy 🙂‍↕️
- it's a number game so don't get caught up on every single application, keep the ball rolling
- if there is a place to put a cover letter or a message to the recruiter do so! You need every opportunity you can get to get noticed
- you can do this 🔥🔥 I believe in you! Go get that bag (:

Okay it's a bit of an unusual post from me, but **I'm looking for a dev job in Poland**.
- I've been building on the web since I'm old enough to have my domain
- I'm proficient in Typescript and React, but I have shipped code in many different languages
- I built and work everyday on enterprise scale codebase, and my code has literally made >100M€ in sale
- Looking for either UoP or B2B
- Either remote or stationary in Krakow
Does anyone in my contacts know about an open position? :clippy_point: I can send my CV on request
I'm throwing a bottle into the sea just in case, but I'd appreciate any boosts ♻️

Yeah I'm verified with a checkmark on my own instance, and the rel=me link on my website is correct; I'm not sure what Mastodon is missing from my Akkoma instance. My instance should respond with the same object with or without uppercase right?

Super cool project ! But it doesn't seem to work on my site despite the fact that I have it verified. Is it because I'm not on a Mastodon instance?

What an incredible year:
- I self published a children book
- I started tabling at convention and sold my art for the first time
- I made a poster for a documentary
- I opened an online print shop!
- I completed a massive worldbuilding project for Inktober
- Passed 1,000+ followers on Fediverse, more than I ever got anywhere
- Published 9 new blog posts in addition to 48 newsletter entries _(and if you're subscribed you know that I yap a lot haha)_
- I went to Japan
- Got engaged :)
There have been some fails along the way, but this could have been worse! Next year I will focus on making better art and to share it better with you guys!
I’m optimistic about the future and I want to spread this feeling around ❤️
I wish you all a wonderful 2026!

I've been on fedi for 3 years, so I'm taking the opportunity of #PortfolioDay to make a proper #introduction !
My name is Nighten and I love to draw _very_ detailed illustration about city and nature. Most of my artworks are set in the same continuity and universe, see if you can spot the link between them!
Most importantly, I publish a weekly art newsletter where I dive deep into my art, project and inspiration. I think it's very good so feel [free to join and read the archive!](https://arc.nighten.fr/) :)
_(You even get free coloring pages by subscribing!)_
And thank you if you decide to follow me! I hope my art will bring you joy 🌸

# Fun Internet Theory
I came across [this post](https://social.sublingual.xyz/@Jo/115217320552017951) by @npub13ev…32a8 , that captured a feeling I’ve had for a long time:
> “Fun internet Theory” states that there are still a lot of cool and interesting things to do online.
This is a reference to the Dead Internet Theory, which states that the internet is invaded with bots and algorithmic slop.
_(The theory has way more strange and absurd ramifications if you dig far enough. They are not worth your time, so this is the basic understanding most people have when they hear the term.)_
I love how positive this definition of the Fun Internet Theory is. It's an optimism that is more realistic than you might think.
You see, I refuse to think of the internet as what is being served by algorithms and mainstream social media. It’s as absurd as looking at the top grossing films every year and being like “Man, all movies are the same these days”.
The old internet, or at least the part we cherish, did not disappear. It wasn't replaced by bots; we got our attention stolen from it.
We’ve deluded ourselves into thinking that social media (and thus the web) is all there is to see. That you must keep up with international news and the discourse of the day. You must hold an opinion and defend it, or at least find people that confirm your biases.
I refuse to think that the internet is only this.
The other thing I love about Fun Internet Theory is that it states that there are a lot of cool things to _do_ on the web.
The internet is a much sadder place when all you do is consume passively whatever is delivered to you this day. Instead, being active should be at the forefront. **But being active doesn’t mean you need to run your own website!** It starts with you being more involved in what you see and how you interact with it.
This is not only gonna bring you to interesting places, interesting people (like you!), but it's also way more satisfying! Even if from the outside view you are missing out on the daily noise.
So go, explore the weirder parts of the web! Weird wiki on a specific topic, obscure game on itch.io, small musician on Soundcloud, or random people’s blog.
But even better, be a part of it!
Comment on someone’s post, share a montage of your favorite game screenshot, seed a torrent, make a meme! Or make friends and help people in a small Discord server!
Do cool things on the internet, because there are and always will be a lot of cool and interesting things to do :)
