I'll surely get rid of the BioTracker and probably of the accelerometer.
Will see about the gyroscope and gps (i want to use it as a @npub1cwf…5mmc extension for when I'm walking, so I'll probably use the phone's gps).
I'll keep the gyroscope, magnetometer and light sensor for they are part of what makes a smartwatch smart lol. Probably I'll make a toggle to switch them off too for those who want extra battery or extra privacy.
Still not there yet lol.. First I will have to intercept an OTA to decompile and since I foolishly updated this morning before having the idea to jailbreak this thing, and now I'm stuck, since nobody ever decided to dump an image of the firmware..

There's a reason if people spend years studying and training in design, it's not something you can casually prompt your way in. I suck in UI so most of the time I just prompt "you have free choice to implement a revamp" and go through many iterations until I'm satisfied.

The splash screen finally wears the new icon: the squircle, the stack of colored sheets, the whole shape. Windows and Linux got the same treatment.
Android, Windows, and Linux are all up. Linux is one .deb — it lands in your app menu and waves hello when you log in, all sync'd up between them!
Go get it:

# OUTKAST IS HERE. 🟠
**You don't need permission to exist online.**
LibreNostr is dead. Long live **OUTKAST**.
This isn't just a new name, a new icon, or a fresh coat of paint.
It's a statement.
I started with LibreNostr because I wanted a free, independent, open-source Nostr client. But somewhere along the way, I realized something:
**Freedom shouldn't come with a learning curve.**
Decentralization shouldn't mean complicated interfaces. Privacy shouldn't require a computer science degree. And using Nostr shouldn't feel like configuring a server.
**The technology should serve you. Not the other way around.**
🔥 A completely reimagined UI and UX.
🎨 Two new identities: OUTKAST Dark & Light.
⚡ Social, zaps, messaging, and the features you already know.
🔓 Relay-native. Open source. No gatekeepers.
🧡 A bold new identity for those who refuse to fit inside someone else's walled garden.
Same Nostr. Same freedom. A whole new attitude.
And if you're already using LibreNostr, OUTKAST is its evolution, not a separate app. Your identity stays yours.
We're not building another platform to control you.
We're building a better way to exist outside of them.
No permission. No masters. No walled gardens.
Just you, your keys, and the network.

Voyager will have all of these features once I stabilise roadstr.
I wanted two separate apps because I aim to transform Roadstr into an hub, a bridge between the internet world with all POI, closing and opening hours, all the info that Google Maps taught me I can retrieve, but decentralised and without spyware.
Voyager is the lite version of roadstr, aimed towards the car navigation for those people without an integrated map in their vehicle or for those who simply don't want to be tracked.

Hey man! I really like the idea 😄
I think the best approach would be to make my Roadstr compatible with yours compact, while keeping the existing reporting system intact. That way, reports could travel both through regular relays and over meshcore, opening the door to proper interoperability the two projects without either of us having to redesign everything..
meshcore is definitely interesting and i like the idea of not being dependent by my isp to communicate with other people, but i'd want to make sure the same reports can still be published and received through standard relays. it's a nostr app after all. ideally, both would just be different ways of transporting the same signed events.
I'll look into adding support for your format on my side, keeping it optional and compatible with the existing architecture. this should also make it easier for other projects to integrate in the future..
And about the name I know yours came first, I actually came up with it when I read about the new kind 1315-1316 (maybe from Gigi, utxo or Derek, can't remember who) that I came up with it 😄 but honestly, combining "road" with the "-str" suffix while also getting something that sounds like roadster, is such a natural combination that we simply arrived at it independently, just at different times. Thanks for being so openly nice about it :) anyway, I'd much rather focus on making the two projects interoperable than worrying about the naming coincidence. I think that would be a win for everyone! ⚡

I've taken the habit of running any repo I encounter through my clanker. This is what he found:
# Security Review – Omalauncher
**Repository:** https://github.com/SimonSchubert/omalauncher
**Review type:** Preliminary static source-code analysis
After reviewing the source code, I identified a few potential security issues worth addressing.
### 1. Insecure Arch Linux Rootfs Download – Critical
**File:** `linux/Bootstrap.kt`
The Arch Linux root filesystem is downloaded over unencrypted HTTP:
No cryptographic signature or checksum verification appears to be performed before extraction.
An attacker capable of intercepting network traffic could potentially replace the archive with malicious content, compromising the Linux environment.
**Recommendation:** Use HTTPS where available and verify the rootfs against a trusted cryptographic signature or pinned checksum.
### 2. Potential TAR Path Traversal – High
**File:** `linux/Bootstrap.kt`
During extraction, archive entry paths are joined directly to the destination directory without canonical-path containment checks.
Malicious entries containing `../`, absolute paths, or crafted symbolic links could potentially write files outside the intended rootfs directory, within the app's accessible filesystem.
**Recommendation:** Validate every extraction path and link target, rejecting entries that escape the designated root directory.
### 3. Additional Security Considerations
- OWL widgets can execute shell commands, making untrusted widgets a potential attack surface.
- Cleartext network traffic is permitted at the application level.
- External scripts and binaries should undergo appropriate integrity verification before execution.
### Conclusion
I found no evidence of intentionally malicious behavior during this review. However, the rootfs download and archive extraction mechanisms present significant potential security risks.
**I recommend addressing these issues before relying on the Linux environment for sensitive workloads.**
This is a preliminary source-code review, not a full security audit. No exploit testing or APK binary verification was performed.

I'd love to see the European Union (I mean the institutions obviously) collapse.
For 2 laws they pass that make sense, they pass 100s specifically or indirectly targeted towards empoverishment of the population.
It's been a year since they passed the CBAM regulation, a measure that vexes with more taxes the imports of iron, aluminium, cement, energy, fertilisers and hydrogen because they are "carbon intensive".
Iron, aluminium, cement and energy are massively used to build houses, the very foundation of sovereignty.
Why? I don't know for sure, but looking what's happening in the USA, I think that they want the common people to stop buying/building houses, so that only big groups like Blackrock can and all that's left for us is renting (= house subscription).
Another is the EUDR regulation, where oils, cocoa, coffee are targeted with important measures to check their geographical provenance, with huge costs on the shoulders of companies which will inevitably be discharge onto citizens.
Sorry, but if the EU will ever collapse, it won't have my sympathies.

That's cool.. But technically a personal one could also work up in the air, if the plane wasn't a big Faraday cage.

I am actually sorry. I know Apple has a lot of cool apps and services, I based my eikon off their gallery app since I liked it so much. But it's true, they are trash in regard of development, it's a mafia.
I remember when @npub1xts…kk5s had his app torn down just because Apple wanted a share of zaps ffs

Thanks man! As of now, the app is a ton smoother and faster. I'll need to test it on the road and see the actual battery drain, but it is promising so far.
Also thanks to you and your many reports

I know and I'm sorry to leave out a bunch of people from ever trying my app and leaving proprietary ecosystems.
I won't buy an iOS device to test it nor will KYC my ass just to publish with Apple though.
I'll also update the licence from GPL3 to MIT, so if anyone will want to port it, they can do whatever they want (they can even now with the current codebase).

In the last weeks, I did not publish any update for @nprofile…umms, because I am working on Roadstr 1.0.0 stable release.
This release brings a total rebase of the code in Kotlin from Dart/Flutter (since I won't be ever publishing an iOS version), many many many performance improvements and a new juicy feature that will make you even forget that Google Maps exists.
Soon...

Gm ☀️
Garden assessed. Cleaned all weeds and left them on site to decompose.
Tilled the earth and put some field bean seeds, covered with humus and dirt.
The cover crop will fix nitrogen in the soil for all autumn and winter.
In march I'll plant potatoes, tomatoes, pepper, aubergines and the likes 🌿🌱

Tomorrow I'll go assess the garden and what can be done in preparation for the next spring/summer crop.
But for now, it's a wrap for me.
Good night people 🌙

I believ you.. There's an Italian youtuber that goes around the world, documenting his travels. Kinda of a basic male bitch. But every time he goes visiting these "developing" (yeah sure, when it's gonna be this development) countries, he always hints at the fact that police at checkpoints asks money to let them pass. Africa is especially bad in this regard.
