I'm not sure how TikTok & X monetization works. But, YouTube it's passive ( unless you have a sponsor ad read or something). Rando people watch your video and the money comes in. On nostr it doesn't really matter how many people see your post they still have to click a button to send a zap. I also think part of the problem is people see news that they don't like and won't zap it instead of zapping the POW that went into finding the news story.

The training you can get for free from YouTube or torrents. Most IT certs you have to pay for or have your employer pay for. Look at the relatively cheaper CompTIA certs, get an entry level position, then get them to pay for higher level certs.

It really depends what kind of IT you want to do. I figure most people on nostr our devs or DevOps kinda stuff. But, there is networking and desktop support jobs. Network if you don't have any experiences I would probably work on the CompTIA N+ to learn networking, then go for the Cisco CCNA to actually get a job. Evening companies that don't use Cisco will still hire you because that is a hard cert to get.

Good Morning. About 10 years ago I was settings off mortars. My sister wanted to set one off. The fuse burnt her hand which caused her to knock over the tube in the direction that everyone was standing to watch the fireworks. The mortar was launched into the crowd of people. It blew up right in the middle of the group. I'm still surprised that nobody was hurt except my sister with a small burn on her hand.

The couple I have listened to have been pretty dense, Altas Shrugged for example. Its mostly anytime I would get a work call or got to my destination before a natural stopping point it would really throw me off. I would have go way back to remember what's going on. I can't remember the title but I didn't listen to a lighter book that had different voice actors that I enjoyed. More like an old school radio play then an audiobook.

My old state only had one remaining nuclear plant that the power company wants to shut down but the state is forcing them to keep open. I remember a couple years ago hearing about small scale reactors that could fit into current sub stations but I haven't seen anything recently.

I have a problem with that too. I think a lot of the politicians are being bought to approve these projects. I thinks it's fair to be mad about utilities going up but they are going to increase regardless. When I use to live in the US my old state utilities shot up because of electric cars. I think part of the problem is electrical companies haven't upgraded or expanded there operations in decades. The data centers shot help pay that bill to help expand power generation.

There was the same nonsense going around about bitcoin miners a couple of years ago to. I use to work in a data center that was in the middle of an urban area. No one was getting sick or anything else back then. Nobody even cared that it was there. I am not saying I can point a finger at someone saying that they are the cause of it but I think there has to be a group or person pushing it.

Has anyone seen a business with a " We accept Bitcoin" sign that actually doesn't accept it ? I have been to this place twice now with different staff and been told twice now that they don't accept Bitcoin. They do have a Bitcoin ATM inside the place.
