nice. GURPS strikes me as the game most likely to never happen because the GM wants to buy and read three more sourcebooks before planning the next session

oh that's cool. I never played GURPS but have for decades had in mind that someday I'd GM again and it would be either GURPS or Rolemaster. strikes me as the sort of system where some significant fraction of the player base would get excited about biological details. I do still have an ancient copy of GURPS Illuminati on a shelf somewhere

One product of spending most of my late teens through mid-30s in LA: I was a technical advisor for Crusade, the sequel series to Babylon 5. That's some title inflation, and you won't find my name in the credits: I'd be included in the thanks-to JPL, though I wasn't myself at JPL. JMS came to JPL looking for science help, my JPL housemates got attached to the project, and I got pulled in as a "sure, we could use a biologist." (1/n) #Babylon5 #SciFi

My contrarian, probably incorrect take, one that I've been carrying around and getting into arguments over for a long time: sure deploy to a public cloud, but don't get too attached to particular vendor APIs nor managed services because every platform is an unreliable partner at best. The easier it is to pick up and move, the less stuck you'll be when it all goes to shit. I'm still probably wrong in the long run but allow me my little told-you-so dance, just today

still early in the job hunt so I need to keep putting one foot in front of the other but here I am never exactly having intended to make a career of tech and now I have clearly stayed at the party too long

is there any extra information you’d be carrying in the new exception? I lean KeyError unless you have more to tell
