Because the “Why no Android version?!?” comes up whenever I present an app here let’s settle this once and for all.
By profession I am a mobile developer who specializes in the Apple ecosystem. When I started mobile development some 18y ago you had to make a choice - it was either iOS or Android.

Brilliant analysis of how the far right acts as one international party and that it's dangerous to respond to them only nationally while they already think and act transnationally.

Since we’ll prob see more AppView popping up in the Atmosphere a little word of advice: be 100% sure you can trust the individuals operating these AppViews. Apart from having access to your PDS data (which is public anyways) they will be able to track what posts you open or who you mute. #atproto

2025-09-05 11:26:57 GMT

Would like to create a 🇪🇺 #ATProto list. Can we do a roll call? Who’s building what on #ATProto in Europe?

2025-08-17 14:51:09 GMT

The problem we‘re facing is that as an app builder I could run my own PDS (so that users don’t have to create a Bluesky account - maybe never having heard of Bluesky), I could even moderate my own lexicon. But what happens when users start using apps with lexicons unknown to me?

Now that we have the first ATProto-native file uploading tools that enable users to upload any type of file to a PDS, I believe it’s high time we discuss the responsibilities and risks associated with hosting a PDS for others.

2025-07-17 19:10:16 GMT

Taking this here since Discord seems a little stale and it may be of interest to the entire #atproto community.
For our efforts working on the mobile PDS we were looking into having more than one signing method/key in did:plc.

2025-07-15 12:49:25 GMT

Reuters reports on our Eurosky initiative whose goal it is to establish a full, legally compliant #ATProto stack in Europe. But not only that - we’re working on a commons moderation service that can act as an incubator for smaller ATProto devs.
[European project Eurosky aims ...](https://www.reuters.com/business/media-telecom/european-project-eurosky-aims-reduce-reliance-us-tech-giants-2025-07-15/ )

2025-05-03 09:51:57 GMT

This is actually a pretty huge opportunity for Europe to build its own Commons Social Media infrastructure with #AtProto The components are almost all there. Non-MAGA Insta, TikTok, Facebook, etc. without having to start from scratch and with 0 users - here we go.

It would be super important to get a European relay instance up and running. But we need clarity when it comes to European legal questions and the DSA. Would the relay be considered caching or hosting infrastructure. The size of the replay window will probably play into this.
