Well thank god it’s not vibe-coding or AI agent chat.

I vividly recall when I was travelling throughout North America (1997 mostly), trying to figure out what the sales tax was in that state so I could figure out if I had enough cash to buy something. Not fun.

Honest question to my USA friends, do the benefits of faster delivery of your packages outweigh the downsides of Drone-based delivery of goods? https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2026/08/amazon-aims-for-delivery-drones-to-reach-500-us-neighborhoods-by-end-of-2026/ Reading this it feels like the Concorde problem. Some people want to fly between places quicker, but everyone else says "not in my backyard" and they ban them from flying in/out of their airports. Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should? Interested in those that are living this right now, today.

Good god mate do you guys ever stop and take a breath? All I see are more and more features. I can't keep up!

He didn't specify that. And for the record, it isn't ALWAYS a fuse. But let's not get picky.

Fuses? I hope you mean Circuit Breakers. Fuses are rather, old school. New installs generally shouldn't use them, unless it's your original board which I doubt given the upgrade you did.

I'm approaching the 5-year mark with my Model 3. I copped so much shit from people especially in the beginning, but it's saved me a fortune in fuel/energy and servicing. EVs are the future for personal vehicles, but there are many that still don't see it.

To close out on this, I went back to them and declined on cost grounds and also on the fact that as a sole-podcaster for Causality, there was literally one category that I could be fairly judged in. If there was an awards thingy that focussed solely on Indie/Sole-podcaster creators then I'd consider entering. Otherwise it's throwing money in the bin. Ego is irrelevant. It's a financial decision in the end. Thank you for giving me more to think about. 👍🏻

Thanks James. That kind of parallels my thinking that it's a fair bit of money. As an independent podcaster I don't feel the need for that kind of validation, I.e. my ego is just fine. I consider my Patrons and Supporters to be reason I keep making Causality, and even if I did win an award, paid or otherwise, it wouldn't change anything. I'd still make the show. Appreciate your taking the time to respond mate. 😊

@npub13cg…ck4q Thoughts on the Signal Awards? $285 USD for a single entry. Pay to play feels weird to me but I guess that's par for the course? Curious about your thoughts on whether I should bother.

It's nothing too exciting it's just rebuilding my Live Streaming box. I use Icecast 2 and Liquidsoap with a custom pipe to remotely control it. Problem is that in the past four years dependancies that used to align don't anymore. Like many of these open source projects it's not just hit build and it works, alas.

2026-04-25 01:33:17 GMT

Rebuilding my live streaming system on a new VPS reminded me how long it takes to compile OCAML for LiquidSoap. Yikes!

You're confused. It's okay. Just relax and give the Promite another chance.

LOL. It’s the best of the three options mate. Vegemite and Marmite are horrid.

Also remember that stats for all of my shows are publicly available if you care or are bored. For example Pragmatic: https://op3.dev/show/91309bff-791c-5bf0-8cf8-2cd1f0f815da

I'm honestly positively surprised that the latest episode of Pragmatic, that has been dormant for 9 months, just cracked the 900 downloads. Of course, how many are still listening is another matter, but there are still people subscribed! Thanks everyone for that! Also, I’ll be recording the next Pragmatic episode in a couple of weeks and releasing later in March.

Thanks Dave! I'm thinking of re-purposing a MacMini (Intel) I have laying about for it this time rather than a Raspberry Pi

@npub1rcn…dw4h Having retired my Raspiblitz, what's your current recommendation for the easiest to maintain, self-hosted Lightning Node? Are you still using Umbrel or Start9?

2025-03-03 19:35:20 GMT

According to the latest Cyclone (Hurricane) forecast, it's quite literally, heading right for me. When I moved out of the tropics to Brisbane I didn't expect to see this. Apparently it happened 50 yrs ago before my time so it's not impossible, just rare. We'll see how this goes.

First time in San Francisco airport, and whilst I’m not leaving the Airport I was last in SF in 1997. I was 20 years old.

Weird. I just had a dream that I met @npub1fmx…wp74 at some meetup somewhere. We shook hands and I told him I was on Episode 100 of PC2.0. He didn’t remember me. 😞
