I've met people who speak Wolof! I know about jollof from my Nigerian colleagues, but I heard on good authority that Ghana has better jollof. Senegal-Gambia better still!

I have a small group of friends who do this on Delta Chat. There's three of us and we tend to share news that interests us. Back in the day people used to do this with things like e-mail, but I'm sure people are still sharing this privately on platforms like WhatsApp and Instagram.

by the way, don't browsers have some sort of local data storage thing? I know Element uses that. Perhaps it's much different from SQL

"currently Chatmail core uses SQLite as an embedded C-library" I believe this was the case with GoToSocial (written in Go, of course) until they relatively recently switched over to a WASM library for SQLite. Maybe a similar path exists for Rust?
