Just heard that a member of our Quaker Meeting was arrested on terrorism charges this morning by Police Scotland. His offence holding a sign the Government don't like at a demonstration in Edinburgh on Saturday 6 September. They didn't do it at the time because they want to pick people off secretly to avoid publicity.

What a day of shame for the metropolitan police. An organization with an over representation of rapists and sexual offenders, domestic abusers and racists in its ranks. Arresting peaceful protesters many of them pensioners who are passionate about social justice and who want to stop a genocide. The protesters are people of my conscience. The politicians and police officers who allow this to happen are beyond contempt.

Defence does not include the slaughter of civilians the majority of whom are children or shooting civilians queueing for water, or firing shells at a Catholic church giving refuge to 600 civilians, nor bombing hospitals,.... I think it is just more empty spin. The refusal of SNP under John Swinney to engage with the wider pro independence community is a mistake. While there can be no independence without the SNP it is clear they can't deliver it alone. The nation will not forgive SNP for putting party advantage before our Scottish national interest. There needs to be a strategy for how to respond if UK refuse a referendum.

Just thinking about how those of us who demonstrate against genocide in Gaza in praceful protests were demonised as anti Semites and thugs. This week we have seen the real thugs on the streets far right racists attacking mosques, local communities and rioting.
