do you have a lot of garage sales? I’d have to keep stuff around until late April :/
Plans for tonight?

Frantically ordering every storage bin and home organization tool I can so I can go in to 2026 more organized. In reality they will just sit unused, take up space and more me more cluttered.

you were a nurse? So cool. I used to do QA testing for the NCLEX exam but just the tech side, not the actual test knowledge stuff.

Nothing quite as exciting for me as telling the dermatologist who inaccurately diagnosed me with kidney disease, MS and a neurological disorder solely based on sight that I won’t be back because my second opinion derm did a biopsy and ruled all of those out.

2025-12-16 15:30:12 GMT

Today I give the gift of matching socks to my dermatologist. To be clear, I’ll be wearing matching socks and she will get to appreciate it. Unlike last time when I was a super hot mess of mismatchedness.

Cape? Like cap and gown? Or is it more some kind of senior inside joke? We had sweatershirts that said SWIPE - senior women in pursuit of excellence.
Surely something fun came out of one of those parties.
That surprises me that you didn’t play sports.
Hubs has been traveling a lot with the new job. I’ve been planning lots of nights out for when he’s home. He loves going out. I can take it or leave it most times.

He did say he was a real estate developer and crypto trader. I just needed him to say he was a retired military war hero to get the trifecta.

Made the mistake of telling my cohost about Spicy Would You Rather with pen pals and now she wants examples.

2025-11-07 21:13:44 GMT

Just followed a new pen pal to telegram within seconds of chatting. Oh, I know this is a completely horrible idea. And my identity will probably be stolen. And I’ll be scammed out of stuff. But dang, some people intrigue me so much that I’m willing to overlook having to rebuild my life just to see what their end game is

2025-11-03 03:14:35 GMT

@npub1twk…f49k Hey! Long time no talk. How are things?!

2025-11-01 14:57:52 GMT

Nextdoor is flooded today with people not happy about how trick or treaters accepted candy, weren’t grateful, didn’t have bags, seemed too old, etc
Good grief! Turn off your lights and pretend you’re not home. Or post a list of rules 😂 It shouldn’t be stressful. If it is, maybe just don’t do it.

2025-10-30 13:47:08 GMT

The care with which my city has been pre-treating my culdesac for the last hour makes me think the storm of the century is upon us. Or they’re really putting their training dollars to use.

2025-10-24 18:20:33 GMT

Trying to book a vacation rental on Airbnb and I can’t find the White House. This has to be some kind of mistake. Or is it completely booked for the next several years?!

2025-10-24 15:00:18 GMT

Looking forward to The Real Clowns of the White House renting out the new ballroom for weddings and proms to recoup some money. Maybe they’ll even sell the naming rights to it. So exciting!! 😬

2025-10-21 14:00:21 GMT

We have the first Nextdoor panther sighting! There are a lot of claims of bobcat sightings (which rarely turn out or be bobcats). But this is the first panther one. Very excited to watch how this unfolds! 😳

Trying to find a reason to not buy denim overalls for my dogs.

2025-10-14 20:22:30 GMT

Ugh. Just had a flashback to those couple summers I was part of an improv in the park summer program where we harassed, I mean entertained, people with our improv. I was well into my adult years making this even worse. Like my age was closer to now than to my birth. Like awkwardly closer to now.

2025-10-14 16:11:57 GMT

I have no idea what’s happening on The Bear. Which is ironic because I’m only watching it so I can relate to pop culture convos.

haha! I don’t think I’m scary. I did just lose a pen pal but honestly he was kind of a mess. I think he was looking for something spicy. But he wasn’t doing a good job explaining that so the women responding weren’t on the same page. He kept wanting me to help him find someone spicy. But then he’d make these wild, random posts that would piss people off. It was exhausting. It’s like he wanted the end result without being patient. Great pen pals take time. He got frustrated and told me he was gonna leave so I wasn’t surprised when he did.

2025-10-13 16:52:06 GMT

The first week or so of having a new pen pal is always spent with me managing their expectations. I don’t think they can ever be fully prepared for how adhd and borderline (nearing full on) inappropriate I can be.

2025-10-09 18:03:05 GMT

@npub1twk…f49k hey! I feel like we haven’t talked in a bit. How are you?

Hegseth saying the era of overly sensitive leadership is over is wild to me when he represents the side that always wants to take their ball and go home whenever they don’t get their way.

2025-09-30 16:37:10 GMT

Yesterday I was explaining to a pen pal my chaotic MRI of the Dumb and Dumber Twins, the names I’ve given to my dense breasts. Today I get a Happy Belated Dense Breast Day e-card from him. Turns out the last Wednesday of September is #nationaldensebreastday #breastcancer

2025-09-24 20:45:55 GMT

My dog daycare just texted me some pics. My boy dog has a girlfriend and she was at daycare today too. She’s a pittie (so is he) who is about a year younger than him and keeps him in line. I love it so much!

Ugh. That sounds exhausting! Especially knowing that thr wives work together. I’m sorry your dealing with this.
Not much going on here. We had a lot of rain over the weekend which cancelled things. We were supposed to go to the lantern lighting ceremony at this big old historic cemetery but they canceled it due to the weather.
This weekend I have a show but it’s more a variety show. It’s a comedian, an improviser and a drag queen on each team. And it’s 80’s themed. Other than that, I don’t understand what’s going on and I don’t know any of the other performers. Plus hubs is out of town this weekend so I’ll probably have to uber into thr city.

2025-09-22 09:45:50 GMT

Pretty sure I have a concussion. Was woken up by girl dogs feet repeated slamming into my head as she chased something in her sleep.

2025-09-21 18:37:49 GMT

@npub1twk…f49k Hey! I feel like we haven’t talked in a while. What have you been up to?

2025-09-12 14:10:23 GMT

Lady in the ER is screaming because her mom was brought in by ambulance. Apparently the mom has a DNR and the daughter doesn’t want her removed from the ambulance because of the DNR. Think she’s confusing Do Not Resuscitate with Do Not Remove. I could be wrong.

2025-09-04 21:22:34 GMT

I find it ironic that we have a monarch festival the week after the MN State Fair. Guess we need to celebrate the butterflies that didn’t get nailed to a board as part of a 4-H project.

Dogs are so gross and yet I couldn’t live without them.

2025-09-04 13:44:52 GMT

What? No, thats not dog puke on my pants. The dog just drooled on me too soon after eating making it look like I’m covered in watery dog vomit. But I can see where you’d think that.

2025-08-27 14:47:37 GMT

I’m gonna start the weekend now. Even if it is 50+ hours early.

2025-08-26 17:55:45 GMT

@npub1twk…f49k What’s up? Any fun plans for the holiday weekend?

2025-08-26 11:50:36 GMT

Walnuts should never not be candied. There. I said it.

2025-08-23 04:28:49 GMT

Watched a lady have the liquor store cashier scrape the price tags off wine bottles because apparently this lady didn’t have her own keys to do it herself.

2025-08-20 21:30:40 GMT

Didn’t expect the ice cream maker to be loud too. Guess I was hoping for silent churning 😬

2025-08-20 19:41:58 GMT

Somehow my tiny mind thought you just buy an ice cream maker, throw the stuff in and have delicious ice cream in an hour. NOPE! You have to strip caviar out of vanilla beans. You have to cook the mixture to a precise temp. You have to cool it in an ice bath then in the fridge. It’s an all day event! You know what’s not an all day event? Driving to the store and buying ice cream :/

2025-08-19 19:15:36 GMT

I’m totally with you. Hubs wants a lot of fancy stuff. I just need it to keep the food cold. But since he has to deal with the things breaking I let him get what he wants. And try not to say “I told you so”! 😂

2025-08-19 15:24:55 GMT

I’ve been getting Botox (for migraines - don’t hate the procedure hate the reason LOL) for decades. Today is the first time he told me to not do anything for 24 hours so the injections don’t move. Granted you can look at me and see I haven’t been doing anything for 50 years but it’d still be nice if he faked like I do stuff.

2025-08-19 15:10:42 GMT

- reply

Not much to say really. I still have a bunch. I still keep getting new ones. And I’m liking that they aren’t all spicy. Did almost delete my accounts because some days it’s a lot. I just need to remember that I don’t need to respond asap and I don’t need to be in contact with all of them every day.

2025-08-19 15:04:43 GMT

it was nice to allow her to bring friends. Sorry it turned into a crapfest. I hope your wife gets a much deserved trip to the dispensary out of it.
I’m glad we’re not the ones who keep Frankensteining together appliances. Fortunately hubs has some picked out. I’m not picky so whatever he comes home with is fine with me. And I want him to be home when it’s delivered because I don’t want to manage that on my own.

2025-08-19 04:49:06 GMT

- reply

I’m usually really good with calendar stuff. I write everything down and set ton of reminders every day. I’m always getting on hubs for being bad about this. So I had to tell him I messed up my appointment. On the plus side, I didn’t miss it. I’m just a day early.
I’m sorry the resort was a nightmare. But it must be bad if you don’t want to talk about it.
Sorry you had to spend so much on the car. That stinks. But it’s nice of you to get it fixed.
We need a new refrigerator. We’ve been able to limp it together until hubs is in town long enough to pick out a new one.
What is a flamingo party?
Yes, we’re hoping to get to the fair. We have a bunch of birthdays to celebrate but I think we can fit it in.

2025-08-18 20:00:52 GMT

you always have the wisest responses. So I had two hours of sleep, been waiting all day for this appointment, never got a login link, and realized I’m a day early 😑
How are you? Whats new?

2025-08-18 16:01:06 GMT

Trying really hard to keep my bra on until after my video visit with my doc this afternoon. Also trying really hard to not wear my Mrs Roper wig and caftan to said visit. Can’t make promises on either of these things.

2025-08-16 13:49:21 GMT

I’m sure I can find some old stuff if not. The last show I recorded the mic was too loud so you can’t really hear my jokes :/ But you just reminded me that I need to wear a clip on mic next time. So thank you!

oh no! I’m sorry! My weekend was good. Went to a small county fair. Fried food, 80’s music and conversations with random strangers. Also took a little road trip to scope out a venue I’m performing at next week.

I’m so excited that your wife is enjoying this. She sounds like an awesome person. Having her explore this with you has to be amazing. And I’m glad she isn’t able to accept the compliments. Cool that they have them days and things like that. I’m sure that adds to the adventure of it.

I’m glad you have fun. Do you think you’d get into swinging? I’m kind of surprised they don’t have rules about non swingers going to swingers events. Did your wife like being hit on? As someone who doesn’t love attention, I don’t think that would be for me. I don’t even like talking to audience members after a show because I don’t want to be complimented.

great point. I am already trying to find ways to meet up with people. And I’ve convinced my hubs we need to throw an annual party like this (we rented out a brewery).
Are you throwing any parties this weekend? Other plans?

2025-07-25 13:35:26 GMT

Hubs retirement party was a huge success. Hundreds of people showed up. It was like a wedding reception where I only got to talk to some of them and only for a short people of time. I’m trying to convince him to let us host a party like that every year.

It helped that I didn’t get any migraines. That is usually the catalyst for a meltdown and then everything goes downhill. That’s cool that you took an RV! I love Wyoming and the National Parks.

2025-07-20 04:34:58 GMT

The Cold Play thing is wild because I know an HR department where a ton of the women slept with their coworkers. It got to be a joke that they were hazing the new employees by sleeping with them. And that is just one reason I’m not a fan of HR.

2025-07-19 23:51:47 GMT

I was on the bike at PT and this lady came running across the gym, yelled my name and gave me a hug. We lived on the same floor in college for two years. That was 30+ years ago!! She said she recognized my face. I had no idea who she was at first. Once she told me, I remembered because I was just telling a pen pal about her last week and the festival her small
Iowa town hosts every year. I’m totally not stressing that she looks amazing and I was sweating, had no makeup up and haven’t shaved my chin whiskers in days 😬

There’s a “doorman” at this medical building every time i come here. But i don’t think he’s employed by the building since he sits on a shelf. I think it’s just some oldtimer who wanders over from senior living every day to read the paper and push thr door open buttons for people. It’s a nice gesture.

My bro that I’m rather estranged from (he’s hardcore maga) texted to say our cousin died. My instinct was to pick up the phone and call my other brothers and share our funny memories we had with this cousin. Then I realized my other bros have all passed. Very trippy feeling right now.

I got this butter crock thing to keep butter soft. You put cold water in the bottom and the butter is in the lid. But I either put in too much water or the butter falls out if the lid.
