I think many nostr devs underestimate the importance of balancing the zap economy because they think in abundance. There's this assumption that as nostr grows it will have money dumped into it like Facebook or YouTube except the money will go to the people instead of a corporation.
People need to wake up and realize the deep state printing money to propagandize through Facebook and YouTube in a desperate oil-starved economy probably aren't gonna suddenly do wealth redistribution through nostr adoption.

I don't see a point to the mutual-following-based web of trust except maybe sheer simplicity. A better web of trust wouldn't purely focus on who trusts who.
It would factor in how much you trust people and what topics you trust them on by letting you shift the priority list of what npubs you trust.
It would also factor in which content people do and don't trust from each other in general by using content-based judgments instead of only npub-based judgments at the furthest degree of separation. In other words, putting an npub at your highest priority slot would not filter out what npubs they disapprove of and show stuff from what npubs they approve of. It would show you what content they approve of and filter out what content they disapprove of.
The "approving and disapproving" has different meaning depending on context, since there are different uses for web of trust. In the context of feed curation, posts they approve of could mean posts from anyone they follow and posts they don't approve of could mean posts they've reported. That's kinda like the existing thing with mutual follows. But in the context of a reddit clone, the web of trust could be like a weighted karma score based on upvotes and down votes. In the context of a wiki, upvotes and downvotes would make sense as accuracy judgements there too.

A court would probably find your work under this license is functionally the same as public domain, except maybe the part about changing the name means you're keeping rights for a particular branding.

GitHub might not allow a copywrong license to stay on their site, at least not forever, since it prohibits them from doing so; except a court would actually probably rule against the license and say the code can be used, which is exactly how the copyright system falls apart. I think the concept of greed has religious roots where it's a struggle to recognize sufficiency and be satisfied by it. Baked into all humans, an urge to have more than whatever we have at a given time, which mixes with one other flaw, our ability to lie to ourselves, and the result is we can have a hard time appreciating what we have.
Of all the ideas from religion, this one's seemed the most well-established and proven in real world observation from my anecdotal experience. It seems as though if there is a conscious creator of the universe, they've balanced this to be challenging for us and imbued magical meaning into the challenge.

These would allow open source software to flourish freely with the copyright system falling apart.

I used to be a delivery driver. People paid for the food I delivered, including the cost to pay me as an employee delivering it, plus tipped me. Meanwhile, I was polluting the environment with an entire car just to move food around safely because other people with entire cars wouldn't let something like a motorcycle be safe. I trust the food I delivered was of decent quality by this shitty era's standards, but via pollution, my job was to kill my customers and everyone they love while relying on them not knowing I'm doing that so they not only pay me, but tip me as well. I didn't tell every customer "you really shouldn't tip me, I'm taking away your food in the long run, it's a tragedy that you couldn't cook for yourself." I don't expect delivery drivers to tell me that every time they deliver to me either. And I also tip them worthless dollars hoping it will help them survive. Doesn't mean I think they're good people or adding anything to society. They're random people who may or may not be good but are currently unable to find a way to survive without being part of the military industrial complex's petrodollar economy.
Dollars are worthless pieces of paper anyway, maybe in an economy based on something valuable it would be more likely for the economic exchanges to reflect value and people would be better at accurately assessing value instead of clinging to delusions.

Last time I configured relays I set nos.lol as my main one, and that one has seemed functional enough for now, so I haven't changed my settings, but I have been jumping around between different web apps on an old phone and not checking how each web app handles relays. I see it as real-world stress-testing.
I should put it like this, what I see with nostr is some censorship resistance, and a lot of potential for censorship resistance, but not enough censorship resistance.
People hype nostr's censorship resistance up like it's already hit one of these milestones when it hasn't yet:
* Clearly matching the functionality of state of the art electronic communications
* Clearly surpassing the rest, becoming the new state of the art in and of itself
* Pushing the state of the art back to where it was at the peak of human technology, like when Aaron Swartz was still alive at least

Changing between different relays and web apps didn't help on my shadow banned account. I suddenly stopped being able to send and receive messages and my posts became very rare to actually see loading anywhere after being posted.
I don't feel like finding my account from a year ago and my old screenshots and stuff right now, and it has gotten better in the past year, so with my laziness and your hard work you're about to get some weaker more recent examples of it being hard to get text delivering consistently via nostr.
1. Yesterday I made a long form post and in Primal it linked to a Highlighter page that said "event not found" - so nevent link is not up to par with plain old DNS based link to habla.news which habla.news specifically told me not to use

2. And a third example I just noticed - my njump.me page has out of date posts
I'm often paranoid about being targeted but I don't think these examples are me being targeted like I felt a year ago. Some of it could be me messing up my relays on my own end and there's probably work being done by people other than me to fix it. Slowly. But this tech still hasn't reversed the decay of free speech quite yet

Not always, but censorship resistance should include accessibility for both spammers and people who want to block spammers
Every nostr client web app seems to use JavaScript and stuff to function on-device and take load off the server backend, so when I have the nprofile link, every client could by default load every post a spam bot has ever made if it has its own relay for the web app to connect to. That would be censorship-resistant
Instead, even if it's a regular person instead of a bot, seeing all their posts might not work reliably across all apps. That's not censorship resistant

If you made an account on reddit 2 years ago, even though reddit was heavily censored, I would have been confident you could message me and have me receive it.
If you didn't want to make an account, I would have been confident you could find someone with an account, have them message me, and have me receive it.
That wasn't censorship resistance, that was a heavily censored level of functionality on a long-zombified reddit years after Aaron Swartz died.
Now I'm on nostr, where I do not suggest expecting messages to get through to me, especially on the mere first or second or third try.
That is not less censored, it's more.
The nostr protocol is designed to have the potential for censorship resistance. It's also a design that gets there very slowly, from what you can see today. Not there yet.

Have you never noticed your feed loading inconsistently? I don't get it.
When I tried nostr around a year ago my account got shadow banned hard on every relay people actually use. Banning me is the same as other platforms like reddit or whatever, but nostr is worse at this early stage because it's not even reliable to make a new account from a new IP address and device. Last time I tried onboarding someone to nostr face to face was earlier this year, we couldn't find a single web app that would actually let us message each other, new accounts can just be shadow banned by default.
It's gotten to the level where it's starting to be worth using lately. Fiatjaf admitting the issues are there probably helped. But the nostr protocol and network both have a long way to go before there's serious censorship resistance. The current phase is making people aware of the issue and just barely starting to attract users to fully uncensored implementations of nostr so they can start to be functional. The goal is restoring the old internet culture where a sysadmin's job was to make sure humans can talk more than bots, not call power users "spammers"

Thought about it. Not sure how. A start would be making a good list of all the related leaks, Panama papers, Paradise papers, Pandora papers etc, with links to all the best info sources. I don't even know how to find those links tbh.
There's so much leaked data of that type we need a specialized app (doesn't have to be a client, can just copy and paste for input/output) converting pages from other formatting (wikitext, HTML, etc) to nip-54, so humans just have to check the previews and fix the mistakes.
