The Church Arcade is a new arcade that opened earlier this year in Duquesne, PA and it looks amazing. :guilded_eyes:
It’s a former Catholic church built in 1890 but has recently been repurposed as a retro gaming and pinball establishment. You pay a fee at the door and all machines are on free play.
The interior looks mighty impressive and dramatic! I really want to check out this place in person one day.

Many HD DVDs were “combo” discs, meaning one side was the HD version and the other side of the same disc was the DVD version. This gave people the opportunity to pay for the movie once and play it on a number of different devices.
It’s a shame blu-ray overtook HD DVD as the dominant HD physical format. I always thought HD DVD was better overall.

Geist for Gamecube is a pretty interesting FPS game with unique mechanics.
Back in the day, my friends and family would get together to play 4 player multiplayer matches. It was cool possessing various NPCs and even ceiling-mounted turrets to take out the other players.
After a few nights of playing this, we went back to playing Halo 2 and continued running each other over with Warthogs and Ghosts in Blood Gulch :guilded_shrug:

Before starting Retro Gaiden, I looked for a great retro-themed #Fediverse instance to join & promote. I fully expected to find one.
I did not.
Every instance I found was permeated with politics & social justice commentary. Not to mention, they all had an identical look. Plain and boring. They're all "retro" in name only.
Retro Gaiden is simply the best retro-themed #Mastodon server on the internet and it's not even close. :mastodon: :rg5:

@nprofile…gnp3 I do like that you can order custom Xbox controllers but I’ve never done that. I can’t bring myself to spend that much money on a controller. Plus, I always have issues with Xbox controllers after a year or sooner.
Still, I’d love to see what yours looks like when you get it if you don’t mind posting it!

I cannot stand using YouTube without some sort of ad blocker. It’s seriously unbearable and I will not put up with intrusive ads anymore, on any site.
Even “free speech” alt tech centralized sites have widely-adopted this #enshitification model.

I set up an Odysee account here on Retro Gaiden. I’ve set it up as an automated account that *should* automatically cross-post here when the official account posts on X.
I’ll manually cross-post a couple of things from that account and let the automation run. Hopefully it works 🤞
