, I experienced this magic for the first time recently on Kubuntu 24.04. My Canon Pixma G3012 printer, which has required Canon’s proprietary drivers for printing and scanning over the network till 23.10, was able to print without it on 24.04. Scanning didn’t work though - the scanner wasn’t detected. Thanks #OpenPrinting and @npub1w6w…nvdc! 🙏

[@AKernelPanic](https://fosstodon.org/@AKernelPanic), I have a LUKS+Btrfs+Snapper setup and my first choice was to revert to a pre-upgrade snapshot and that worked well. But since 24.04 was just a minor KDE Plasma upgrade, I decided to do a clean installation with debootstrap (because I wanted to use a Btrfs+LUKS setup again and it was easier for me with debootstrap) and that worked great!

[@AKernelPanic](https://fosstodon.org/@AKernelPanic), ❤️ I upgraded mine after the beta release. Had an issue with WiFi not working. Wasn’t sure what was broken and I had to race against time to fix it since it is my work laptop and the weekend was over at that point. A clean install (via debootstrap for reasons) worked perfectly and everything has been smooth after that.
