I just don't think anything linked with "pedi" could be an organization that is sustainable and I think the only way to help "youth liberation" are just changing social policy.

I think pedi is a very bad place to organize anything. Any positive position someone takes on an issue is inherently slander towards the position.

There won't really be a movement if adults decided it is inherently "pro-c pedophilia". It's not a movement that most youths would want to join nor a position people will listen to.

2025-01-14 03:11:52 GMT

- reply

I think the act of making that position contradicts the spirit of "youth lib".

2025-01-14 03:05:51 GMT

I just don't see the parallel between "workers" and "youths" being that interlinked where "maps" can constitute a "vanguard". I think there are specific issues and policies that can help propel "youth liberation", but none of them are necessarily "map related". It seems like it hurts any chance for "youth liberation" by intertwining them.

2025-01-14 03:01:32 GMT

So a youth liberation movement that doesn't agree with most youths' position on the topic? I don't think "sexual liberation" necessarily has to include large age gaps and it's kind of a distracting issue since it's so polarizing.

2025-01-14 02:57:47 GMT

- reply

So do you think if a youth joins a "youth lib" group and doesn't agree with adult/child sex is "anti youthlib". I don't see how the two issues are necessarily related.

I think it's kind of silly to think pedi isn't an echo chamber

I think pedi's major contradiction is the ability to resolve the conflict of there narrow definition of "youth lib" and youths as they are, with their own thoughts and opinions. I remember there was a 13 year old on rape.pet that was chased off for being broadly "anti-c" in some weird way. The idea that she didn't want to be "youth liberated" drove people into a frenzy.
It's the issue with a small group of people defining what "liberation" means for a diverse group of people. You end up alienating many and become an insular group, many of whom aren't in the demographic to begin with, with this "secret knowledge" that many are resistant towards. For whatever reason, many youths are skeptical of the idea a group of pedophiles hold the key to their liberation.

>when i say serious discussions its usually something along the lines of "how exactly do we fix the laws to maintain some form of abuse prevention while abolishing aoc"
Yeah I mean I have seen those conversations, but they don't seem actionable so it's usually just people's hot take.
>not quite sure what u mean by "dark fedi" or what relevance conspiracy theorizing and racism has, pedi at least doesnt really talk about those things.
People have given fairly weird opinions about the jewish people and Israel that definitely go into "antisemitism" territory.
>nnia banning pro-c anything is hypocritical of them. it just arbitrarily silences/represses/exiles one entire side
The framing is kind of silly to begin with and it makes sense why prostasia wouldn't want to platform "pro-contacts". I don't think people are really "censored" since there are plenty of spaces to express different opinions.
>extended metaphor
I think the two situations are significantly different and even in that analogy if a child has hemophilia it's reasonable for them to be cautious in the same way I get why NNIA doesn't allow racism or "pro-c" views.

2025-01-09 14:05:57 GMT

- reply

I don't know NNIA tends to have a more goal-oriented approach and I don't really see why banning people for racism or having "pro-c" stances is really "bad" since that's the point of their instance.
I wouldn't really want to have a "serious" conversation on here because I'm not really a fan of the type of discourse "dark fedi" has because it's generally conspiratorial and racist.

2025-01-09 13:14:57 GMT

- reply

yeah that's the thing they all agree with each other more or less. I don't think there is much "internal nnia" drama.

2025-01-09 13:06:52 GMT

- reply

I mean on nnia they seem to mostly concentrate on flags and just the same discussions over and over again.

2025-01-09 11:29:35 GMT

The idea of "discussion" based instances just never made sense for me on pedi. I met someone who in on the second volume of capital recently and they told me they would want to keep it separate. That's honestly most potential "maps" I would have conversations with, it would be a better convo in a different context. There aren't many people with your interests aside of being a "map".
NNIA kind of makes sense because they have an affiliation with prostasia so it is purpose-driven, but it tends to suffer from a lack of activity and other instances end up getting blocked over disagreements. So you are left with a bunch of small instances where people have to appeal to the lowest common denominator for it to be "normal social media". Most posts end up being even more banal that twitter posts. People post stuff like "rape is bad" or "I like this video game, it's good" while the twitter/other social media discussion tends to be far more engaging and interesting.
I don't really see an advantage of excising sexuality from instances that were made for sexualities. The result is often mundane and uninteresting.

Nope, those posts were on pawoo and I told them to delete them and join my instance. All his posts didn't break the rules on eepy so people were mad about past posts.

No it's silly. I think they were arguing I had to because of the "Utah law", but having a terms of service that requires 16/18+ is legally valid. It's also impossible to "prove" someone is "lying" or doing "age play". Clicking a button is good enough for pornhub and similar sites.

yeah and then you got upset rape.pet and cannibal.cafe had a thread calling you a fed and me a horrible person for approving your account iirc

2025-01-09 10:34:25 GMT

Yeah cyanide had a breakdown over you so I banned them then a couple more people had breakdowns bc they could "prove" that people were secret minors.

2025-01-09 10:32:51 GMT

Yeah people were demanding me do age verification too. Pedi is silly.

2025-01-09 10:26:03 GMT

Yeah you and Lucky were the reason I banned a couple of people because they kept going on rants about how "minors can't interact with porn" and "shouldn't be here", even though in Sweden there is no age limit for viewing porn and in the Netherlands it is 16.
