Update Bitcoin
Configure and save (Bitcoin may get stuck shutting down - known bug in StartOS - if so, restart the server).
Services that depend on Bitcoin *may* complain about RPC becoming inaccessible. If so, enter config and hit save in the unhappy service so that it grabs new RPC creds from Knots.
If you want to switch to knots and are on Core v27.1:
Go to system tab
Click "Manage" 5 times to enable developer mode
Go to Community Marketplace
Click on Knots and "Reinstall" it.
As above for everything else
If you have already installed DATUM and it's not working correctly since switching to Knots, enter DATUM's config and hit save so that it grabs what it needs.

Permissionless protocols that don't take spam seriously become unusable.
Thabkfully, no one here is pretending it's all valid use of Nostr and thus inciting us to inaction.
However, Bitcoin is the most important protocol of our lives in many ways and the gas lightning around the spam it suffers has been sadly very effective.
Very few take it seriously or imagine fee markets for block space are somehow sufficient when they clearly aren't.
