Last Notes npub1wrqwke4uku0q8xqnpw53l3sr7xjmkzvswyyltqt89fv4p98j99nse6ssxr Nonya Bidniss Well I come at this as a veteran who also spent a career in federal civil service. I see it differently. I did leave my position at a high level in the IC during Trump's first year in office...I saw him as the most significant insider threat the U.S. has ever seen, and it had a huge impact on my life and every day watching what goes on kills me. But even as a civil servant I participated in protests and I still do today. I get that lots of civilians will see it exactly the way he intended them to, there's no way to explain my view to them, they'd have to live it. But there will be more military holding my view and more non-mil/vets holding the other view. Nothing to be done about thatđ€· He got what he wanted but he's not doing any favors to the military by doing this in uniform, it plays into the narratives of people who would love to paint Service members as political actors. That's not good. npub1wrqwke4uku0q8xqnpw53l3sr7xjmkzvswyyltqt89fv4p98j99nse6ssxr Nonya Bidniss resigning his commission would have had an incredible impact on him and would have been a huge personal sacrifice, I'm not sure civs know this npub1wrqwke4uku0q8xqnpw53l3sr7xjmkzvswyyltqt89fv4p98j99nse6ssxr Nonya Bidniss Sorry but what Major Watson did **was** a stunt. There were a lot of things he could've done to make it *not* a stunt, but he did none of that. He's what I would refer to as *that* major -- there's a type. I don't want to hear about him as a hero. He's a dumbass. npub1wrqwke4uku0q8xqnpw53l3sr7xjmkzvswyyltqt89fv4p98j99nse6ssxr Nonya Bidniss Geez you really get deep into this, searching out specialty drill brushes. If so, how often? Or do you just burn off the crud on max heat and hit it with a scraper when pre-heating the grill? #grilling npub1wrqwke4uku0q8xqnpw53l3sr7xjmkzvswyyltqt89fv4p98j99nse6ssxr Nonya Bidniss Happy Confederate Surrender Day (pt. 2) npub1wrqwke4uku0q8xqnpw53l3sr7xjmkzvswyyltqt89fv4p98j99nse6ssxr Nonya Bidniss Happy Confederate Surrender Day! npub1wrqwke4uku0q8xqnpw53l3sr7xjmkzvswyyltqt89fv4p98j99nse6ssxr Nonya Bidniss "Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has taken steps to block or delay promotions for more than a dozen Black and female senior officers across all four branches of the military, some of whom are seen as having been targeted because of their race, gender or perceived affiliation with Biden administration policies or officials, according to nine U.S. officials familiar with the process." https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/national-security/hegseth-intervened-military-promotions-dozen-senior-officers-rcna266062 npub1wrqwke4uku0q8xqnpw53l3sr7xjmkzvswyyltqt89fv4p98j99nse6ssxr Nonya Bidniss âȘAlejandra Caraballo⏠@esqueer.net⏠npub1wrqwke4uku0q8xqnpw53l3sr7xjmkzvswyyltqt89fv4p98j99nse6ssxr Nonya Bidniss Statement from Matt Moberg, Chaplain of the Minnesota Timberwolves npub1wrqwke4uku0q8xqnpw53l3sr7xjmkzvswyyltqt89fv4p98j99nse6ssxr Nonya Bidniss NBC News: DHS has shot 12 people during immigration enforcement operations since September: npub1wrqwke4uku0q8xqnpw53l3sr7xjmkzvswyyltqt89fv4p98j99nse6ssxr Nonya Bidniss The U.S. has entered the Dual State condition described by Ernst Fraenkel npub1wrqwke4uku0q8xqnpw53l3sr7xjmkzvswyyltqt89fv4p98j99nse6ssxr Nonya Bidniss âThere is no such thing as liberalism â or progressivism, etc. npub1wrqwke4uku0q8xqnpw53l3sr7xjmkzvswyyltqt89fv4p98j99nse6ssxr Nonya Bidniss It was a CBP thug who killed Pretti, by accounts I've seen, and I know the headlines are about Dems now saying they won't vote to fund ICE but I'd like them to stop funding the entire DHS. Many honks from semi-truck drivers, which was a little surprising. npub1wrqwke4uku0q8xqnpw53l3sr7xjmkzvswyyltqt89fv4p98j99nse6ssxr Nonya Bidniss The discovery of the signal happened purely by chance. npub1wrqwke4uku0q8xqnpw53l3sr7xjmkzvswyyltqt89fv4p98j99nse6ssxr Nonya Bidniss Another U.S. attack on a boat, this time they left evidence: survivors npub1wrqwke4uku0q8xqnpw53l3sr7xjmkzvswyyltqt89fv4p98j99nse6ssxr Nonya Bidniss Aaaaaand Trump signed a memo today giving HIMSELF expanded powers to move appropriated funds around, which is illegal and insane, and nothing happened npub1wrqwke4uku0q8xqnpw53l3sr7xjmkzvswyyltqt89fv4p98j99nse6ssxr Nonya Bidniss We're running on inertia now npub1wrqwke4uku0q8xqnpw53l3sr7xjmkzvswyyltqt89fv4p98j99nse6ssxr Nonya Bidniss If you would like to read a thread about the utter lawlessness going on with #military pay -- incredible crimes are being committed -- here's a link https://bsky.app/profile/diabolicalengineer.bsky.social/post/3m3axork6bs2d npub1wrqwke4uku0q8xqnpw53l3sr7xjmkzvswyyltqt89fv4p98j99nse6ssxr Nonya Bidniss https://media.infosec.exchange/infosec.exchange/media_attachments/files/115/380/463/011/353/973/original/8b07e97fb8af5210.jpg npub1wrqwke4uku0q8xqnpw53l3sr7xjmkzvswyyltqt89fv4p98j99nse6ssxr Nonya Bidniss You either have values or you don't. Sometimes I have doubts but then another torrent of Trumpist sadism comes along to remind me I was right. #shame #shunning npub1wrqwke4uku0q8xqnpw53l3sr7xjmkzvswyyltqt89fv4p98j99nse6ssxr Nonya Bidniss Good job from these patriots. I've had knee pain for decades. I blamed it on all that running in the Army. But in the past couple of years I started doing squats and other exercises that put stress on the knees, with light weights. I could barely do anything when I started. Although I'm still pretty unsteady on lunges, in my 60s my knee pain is basically gone. https://www.sciencealert.com/the-best-medicine-for-joint-pain-isnt-what-you-think-expert-says npub1wrqwke4uku0q8xqnpw53l3sr7xjmkzvswyyltqt89fv4p98j99nse6ssxr Nonya Bidniss Please understand that it is nowhere in the Constitution that the military can provide relief against a president who fails to uphold their oath and constitutional duties through malfeasance or infirmity. The military is not the solution to Trump. The Founders provided solutions which may be carried out by 1) the Congress, or 2) the Cabinet. Failing that, the voters have the solution in their hands. The movies like to dramatize the military as the solution, but the military is very well trained to never be in that position. npub1wrqwke4uku0q8xqnpw53l3sr7xjmkzvswyyltqt89fv4p98j99nse6ssxr Nonya Bidniss Today is my mom's birthday, she would have been 86. Russ Vought is talking about using the shutdown as a pretext for more mass (illegal) Federal employee firing. How could these two things go together...well, the law nothwithstanding, and as we know the law means next to nothing these days, you could fire a shitload of SES's and plop GOFOs into their seats. If that happens inside the military, there are rules against putting civilians in GOFO slots but I don't think the other way around. So that's one thing. But if you take GOFOs and plop them in the seats of fired non-DOD agency heads, that's a thing called martial law -- political leadership by military officers. npub1wrqwke4uku0q8xqnpw53l3sr7xjmkzvswyyltqt89fv4p98j99nse6ssxr Nonya Bidniss They have secure VTCs at every level on a regular basis. There may not be a JWICS VTC at every single GOFO location, but there is surely an SVTC. But it also exposes the servicemembers participating in these attacks to a range of criminal punishments under two distinct legal regimes: federal criminal law (under both 18 U.S.C. § 1111 and the war crimes statute); and the UCMJ (murder and other military offenses like âservice-discrediting conductâ and âdereliction of dutyâ). However, the disinclination of federal prosecutors to hold servicemembers accountable for following an order by the President and for which Trump himself is immune makes the prospect of criminal accountability highly improbable. But that should not cloud this simple truth: the President and Defense Secretary issued an illegal order; that order propagated down the chain-of-command; plans were formulated, mission orders were issued, and the targets were destroyed obediently following that original unlawful command. In this way, the commander-in-chief himself has prejudiced good order and discipline within the armed forces, placing U.S. servicemembers in the position of having to contemplate whether theyâd escape justice." https://www.justsecurity.org/121167/us-servicemembers-liability-lethal-strikes/ npub1wrqwke4uku0q8xqnpw53l3sr7xjmkzvswyyltqt89fv4p98j99nse6ssxr Nonya Bidniss "Accidental" disappearances, deportations? Assassination is against the law according to the War Crimes Act, Uniform Code of Military Justice, and Executive Order 12333, as well as the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. Not that those have stopped the US in the past, or other countries for that matter. Past administrations, Democrat and Republican, have assassinated individuals deemed national security threats, famously Osama bin Laden but also US citizens such as Anwar Al-Awlaki, both ordered by President Obama. Thus there is a precedent, legal or not, for killing accused terrorists in other countries without trial, one which President Trump put into process earlier by designating Tren de Aragua and other criminal gangs to be Foreign Terrorist Organizations. Other countries have adopted similar rationales, including Colombia, which in 2008 killed FARC commander Raul Reyes in neighboring Ecuador." npub1wrqwke4uku0q8xqnpw53l3sr7xjmkzvswyyltqt89fv4p98j99nse6ssxr Nonya Bidniss 2/ This is what a drug boat interdiction looks like on Earth One.
