Agreed. I recently listened to an older pre-covid show. Adam was very different. JCD not so much, lol. The cutting edge has dulled.
Ten years ago I listened to every show, every word. Today no more than a couple hours a month, and then I wonder why. They seem to rehash a lot of old news nowadays.

La Quinta used to be a solid option. It's been more than a decade since we stayed at one. Finding a quality room in a small towns can be tough. We did VRBO and AirBnB for a few years but had a few bad experiences. We still use them now and then, usually when traveling with friends.

The Four Seasons are at the top of most lists, then Marriott/Ritz Carlton and Hilton/Waldorf Astoria. Further down it's Drury, Hyatt and Wyndham. Independents are always nice but you're not going to get points or frequent stay perks. Good luck!

You may need to find another country. We chose Portugal. It was like moving into the past. I'm not Catholic but most people in this country are. This is one of the friendliest, comfortable, affordable places I've ever lived. Each time we go back to the US for a visit I can't help but feel uncomfortable and anxious. It's always a glorious day when we return home.

We stopped staying at Hiltons a little over a year ago. We were mostly using the Hilton Garden in Seville. Had a few bad experiences. We moved up to the Eurostar Torre. Similar price for a superior product.

May I suggest coconut or olive oil? I’ve also lost substantial weight in the last 18 months. From 180 to 125, without trying to lose. I’m 6’1” and need to gain a bit. I changed my diet drastically in an attempt to live a few more years. I eat simple and avoid anything processed, including sugar, salt and flour. My diet is mainly potatoes, fresh vegetables and fruit with occasional fish. I’ve made great progress since my heart attack three years ago. We walk 5-10 miles most days.
