If you were curious on what's happening with the Piggy animation. I've had to put it on hold due to unexpected expenses.
I've had to start accepting shorter form commissions in the hopes of paying bills I can't afford.
My game and any work I want to put into it are on hold until further notice.
Once I start accepting commissions from folks outside my immediate circle, I'll post a pricing sheet here.
:sadness:

@nprofile…lz93 Krita has some weaknesses in comparison, but for an open-source alternative, it definitely is very good. I've been stuck on version 5.1.5 because the palette docker broke with the following update and is STILL broken in 5.2.9.

@nprofile…n4c8 I've been using linux for over a decade at this point and I'd have to agree. Artists are not taken seriously on linux, it's the greatest hurdle I have to overcome regularly as a linux user.
Krita is basically your only NATIVE choice for digital art (but not pixel art). For windows programs that work on linux, most simply do not. Old versions of Photoshop work, as well as Paint Tool SAI (and v2), but CSP is almost entirely broken, and getting it to work is not worth the hassle.

@nprofile…g796 you have a great base already! Improving in animation is learning to take what you have and knowing when to apply things like smears and shakes for extra impact. It all depends on what you're doing. If you increased the amount of movement, a smear might be a great idea for when she goes down the shaft. It's all about timing and not animating everything in ones, twos, or threes, and using variety. Anticipation and Impact!

@nprofile…vgmt As long as SOMEONE can jerk it to my work, then that's the point for me!
I've never found my own work very arousing... maybe because I think it sucks? but I've been told by others that they enjoy it so... that keeps me going.

@nprofile…7rfd Quads are used because they're far easier to work with than Tris. Everything ends in Tris though. Errors like this exist because blender is misunderstanding the normal of the two Tris the Quad is always composed of. Once the model is finished though, you can convert to Tri then and correct any errors, or correct the normals as you work if it bothers you. Using Tris from the beginning just sounds extremely slow and painful.

Single-color T-shirts certainly can be pretty boring huh?
Well, one nice thing about them is how easy it is just to plaster anything you like on them and make it your own.
Isn't that right Josephine?

@nprofile…8gnu The first two pictures are great, as well as the majority of the last one.
If you want a criticism though, horses don't bend their legs in that way to get low to the ground, and the flat of their hoof would not leave the surface either.
Sorry for my poor example but a horse would be far more likely to keep its footing like this. I'm sure you could make it look far more natural than my quick sketch with a mouse lol.

Josephine's new pixel portrait.
Compared to her older sister Joanna, Josephine can come across as lethargic and reclusive.
Please look forward to her upcoming short animation! (Hopefully it'll be finished before April ends.)

@nprofile…eh5g My only suggestion would be to use smearing when doing fast motions like the break dancing. It makes the animation look more fluid and dynamic. All the poses and keyframes look great though!

Turns out, working at 4k with as many layers as I'm used to using for static image drawings isn't a good idea. I've had to dial back and rework how I approach the animation process.
Things are back on track now, but I took some time to rework the kissing panel as well since I wasn't happy with the colors not matching the portrait, and more. The rimming panel will take awhile longer to splice up so I can continue working, but hopefully this'll be done before March is through.

I've was making progress in the animation only to get halted by Krita force closing constantly during the animation process for the rimming loop.
I'll post the TLDR in a reply if you care to know the details, in the meantime, here is a reworked kissing panel.

@nprofile…2z6t Great work! I've been learning animation as well outside of just pixel sprites and it really is baffling at times with software like OpenToonz. You might already know, but another program called Tahoma2D is basically an updated version of OpenToonz you might want to try next time. It's basically the same thing, but actively maintained.

@nprofile…eedg I'll always be jealous of your artwork. I've worked with aliased pixel tools for quite awhile and I've never managed to make my art look as soft and poke-able as yours. Your art is extraordinary! ❤️
