Antidote to Messaging App Fragmentation, which is so obvious that it's hard to spot:
1. accept: "OK so we're on different messenger apps"
2. zoom out: "but we both have emailadresses right?"
3. act: "Lets both have deltachat installed, so we can audio/video-calls via that email"
4. rebound: "If its too much hassle to configure your existing email, just create an anonymous emailaddress, its supereasy"

thx for elaborating.
It's a tricky situation.
I'd love to use DT for all my email-usecases.
Except the 'classic' cleartext usecase (with my 2 DT devices) forces me to delete the same (SPAM) messages (of my selfhosted stalwart **with** spamfilter).
And then later I need to delete it in my claws-mail too.
It raises the question of what 'classic' should mean.
Do you have suggestions for a better DT workflow regarding non-human comms (newsletters/invoices/password-reset) ?

@npub17gp…nrxn is it possible for deltachat (in classic email mode) to automatically delete a chat if it's messages are deleted by a classic emailclient (after it arrived on deltachat) ?
Reason: I use one chatmail adress for family comms, and another (classic) email for notifications from work/webservices (unencrypted, so I can easily find them in claws-mail).

@npub17gp…nrxn would you suggest public chatmail servers for family usage, or are there benefits to using commercial email providers [custom domain e.g.]

The case for https://delta.chat is not IF, but WHEN.
before deltachat: slow email stored on servers, clunky outlook interface
since deltachat:
* modern messenger UX
* fast chatmail stored on your device(s)
* import contact by scanning QR-code
* no SPAM or commercial middleman
* just email (no 1001 messenger apps)

kudos to that, thats quite a backup you've got there (I just looked at the amount of multiformat rss feeds)

EU chatcontrol seems indirectly designed as a bigtech-datagrab and exterminator of commercial messengers (whatsapp etc) as it exempts opensource messenger services like email, deltachat, Matrix, peer2peer.
Not saying spying is good, just saying it's spying on spies.
