I've got two in my city, both easy to get to but I pretty much only go once a year for unsalted shelled pistachios that I grind into flour for pistachio snowball christmas cookies. Okay, while I'm there I may also stock up on frozen meals (their lamb vindaloo is outrageously hot but so so good), and because it's late November I get some of the special edition candy cane fudge ice cream, and a box of chocolate covered peppermint jojo's always seems to end up in my cart. And a box or two of those triple ginger snaps for making crust for pumpkin and/or sweet potato cheesecakes for holiday potlucks. Oh, and cheese straws. So now you see why I limit my forays there.

There isn't any actual factual information available yet about the shooter. The shot, yes - accurate from alleged distance of 200 yards indicating a trained and experienced sniper - but no facts on the shooter who escaped so far unseen. I expect CCTV/video from the area is being examined by law enforcement because the murder happened in a public venue.
Trump and his minions stating it was someone from 'the left' does not count as factual evidence.

Deploying the National Guard over the objections of the state's governor was bad enough, but not wholly unprecedented cuz 60 years ago it was done to protect civil rights and the Insurrection Act was invoked, unlike this time. But the fucking Marines is deliberate escalation to test the use of the military without congressional or judicial approval, and to provoke even those who weren't out there protesting ICE raids/immigration policy to get out there now and resist - and before nationwide 'No Kings' protests kick off this Saturday.

Vaccination effectiveness is highly dependant on physical growing conditions, but may be a long term solution. In the short term once the virus is in a bird in a flock, especially a confined flock, it's spread is so rapid vaccination isn't preventive. And it's a horrible dying process for the birds. And buyers are reluctant to purchase products from flocks in known areas of infection even if vaccination is utilized. It's a cluster fuck.
Culling is so awful for the growers. Even if they get govt compensation they will live forever with the pall of that loss of life.

My aunt made this once for a family picnic, one slice got cut, several people had a taste, and late in the day my cousin and I took their dog for a walk - this was our standard subterfuge to get away and smoke a joint - and took the pie to the nearby pond and fed it to the ducks and geese. This was back in the 70s so by the end of the day all the adults were pretty buzzed on beer and whiskey sours so auntie thought it had been a big hit cuz the pie pan was empty when it was time for everyone to drunkenly drive home.
BTW the dog took one sniff, licked the piece we were holding out to him, and walked away.

Eggs are avian flu related, Trump never could have done anything to effect the supply problem and he lied during the campaign when he said he'd bring egg prices down. And his appointees to not just cabinet positions in HHS and Agriculture won't be implementing programs to address the problem adequately either.
The tariffs on Columbia will increase the overall price of all coffee, not just Colombian beans. And coffee prices will continue to increase in the future due to climate change impacts on coffee growing regions.
If he implements the threatened tariffs on Canada, yes, bacon prices will be affected - lots and lots of hogs cross the border to slaughterhouses here. And, given that China owns the Smithfield brand, including grow out and processing facilities in the USA, tariffs on China will effect meat prices too.
All that being said - the increase in grocery prices *after* covid supply chain problems were resolved is primarily price gouging by corporate food producers, processors and distributors. There aren't mechanisms in USA law to control price gouging - some laws are in place to penalize price gouging in declared disaster areas, but not general price controls. And there won't be any implemented by the current GOP controlled House, Senate or Executive branch.

So, I should be leaving right now for an open public meeting being held by a city official 15 minutes from my house. It's been snowing lightly for a half hour, will continue for another hour and a half but it'll only be around 1 inch accumulation. I don't HAVE to go to this meeting, but I SHOULD go to ensure an organization I represent is seen there - I've no idea if anyone else from the organization is going (the organization is all volunteer, no paid staff).
However, I have acknowledged for over a year now that my night vision is poor, especially on snow covered (even lightly) and wet roads without streetlights. Of more concern is the fact that there will be a thin cover of snow over everything in the parking lot, including patches of ice from thaw/refreeze of prior snow. So, I'm feeling guilty, but I'm gonna go put comfy sweatpants on and curl up on the couch with a book.
Sigh. I can still remember driving for 4 hours in a blizzard in the dark to present a worker health and safety workshop in a factory. 40 years ago. Perhaps the accumulated years since have impacted my personal risk/reward analysis.
