@nprofile…tkx6 @nprofile…u2c9 It should not be necessary to update the go version of go.mod.
It's purpose is to let consumers of your module known which go version it requires.
A valid reason to update it would be if you start using newer language features which mandate a newer compiler version.
IMO govulncheck should ignore the go.mod version entirely.

@nprofile…3n63 @nprofile…9z0u Doesn't it? I through the supreme court ruled that the us president rules supreme and there are no independent entities in the us government. I'd say it carries more wight then ever.
Not that the matter at hand is very relevant of course.

Is there actually published, citable research on the topic? Cause that would be super useful.

@nprofile…s8xx While that's true, and while it used to be a valid choice once upon a time, I think there are enough alternatives to not having to rely on OpenSSL to get it together again.

@nprofile…s53y Maybe you know this, I could not find the info on the #porkbun knowledge base:
Does porkbun support the creation of dedicated sub-zones per domain with dedicated API credentials?
That's one of my main annoyances with #gandi

@nprofile…p9sc I picked garage for personal needs because it seems to have a more solid footing in the Open Source spirit, ie. it has accepted funding from the commons vs the "open core" approach of seaweed.
There has been enough of rug pulling lately to be weary of such business models.

@nprofile…p9sc I have to work with Ceph professionally, if you don't need the massive scalability of Ceph, I'd encourage you to avoid it. Its not simple in any sense of the word and the code base is as mess full of footguns.

@nprofile…675k Given the role the US play in the whole international Internet Governance, I'm sure that could severely cripple the global DNS system, so the question of where your DNS provider is located is probably not really relevant here.

@nprofile…m8mr any way to get back the old language switching key on the keyboard after the recent update? It looks like now it's been replaced by an emoji picker?
I used the language switcher a lot so long pressing the space bar is really tedious in comparison.

@nprofile…6nrq That is a pretty weak take. You might have a different opinion as to what a hashtag means on the fediverse, but I interpret it more as an invitation into a community than a broadcast channel.
People who follow a hangtag invite you to enter their space.
When you accept that invitation to try and rage bait them with poorly disguised AI slop, I don't think you have a lot of ground to be insulted when it's not received well.

@nprofile…s0v8 On the Note3 you get a small field next to the keyboard where you can write with the stylus. The keyboard has different layouts, so it might not show immediately.
It technically works, you can write into apps like Signal or anything that supports native Android input, but the area to write in is so small, you basically need to "reset" your hand after ever word or two, which makes for an awkward writing experience.

2025-04-19 08:10:15 GMT

- reply

@nprofile…s0v8 I have the Note3 for the same reason, running fdroid and being able to run basically any android app.
My main caveat would be that writing with the stylus on apps that are not native boox apps feels kind of wonky, because of how you are limited to the small input field next to the keyboard. Has that improved at all on the Note4 ?

@nprofile…v79x @nprofile…5aa8 Honestly, this is my main worry when I see people suggest we need more automation with handling #nixpkgs package updates and pull requests. Things like this will happen more often the more we go down that road.

@nprofile…vdjy I like to go with a Richard Feynmen Quote:
If you cannot explain something in simple terms, it's because you don't understand it.
If someone classifies your explanations as (too) simple, it's a badge of honor. You should stick to it.
