Can you grieve a #programming or #oss contribution?
Sigh. I think I'm going to have to give up on my attempt to port "NextSpace" -- a #Next like UI + file browser + Apps to #freebsd because of non-firing dispatch queues.
If anyone has expertise here can can unstick me, I"ll tilt at the windmill again, but for right now I'm stymied and am using LLMs as a crutch to punch above my weight class (thoughtfully).

The bad news was:
```
This midnight I was thinking to install #GNUstep on #freebsd and it was really disappointing.
The BSD `pkg` lists have one pkg for Foundation, one for back end, one for front end, and a few others. I’m not sure what i need and the instructions on the site don’t make it clear what I have to have and in what order I have to have it — it was a “too soon” moment from [@david_chisnall](https://infosec.exchange/@david_chisnall ) ‘s post from earlier today [1].
Going to the instructions, I found their magic `curl` pipe to `bash` (don’t have bash on BSD, but le sigh) and I looked at it: it was going to download several repos, tested that I had bash, tested that I had `sudo` (wait, what? Why?).
Ctrl+D. I love Objective-C so much and miss Aqua so hard, but god-dam this is unfriendly[2].
If any #bsd people have this working, let me know.
DEVS: MAKE IT EASY for me to get started. Half the reason React has been so successful (and Rails before it) is because getting started was EASY.
The moments my #philosophy degree surface creates a tense debate internally as to whether I can discuss evaluating output from a model without referencing “Phaedrus.”
I love the metamorphoses. They’re just so primally weird. A hymn to change itself.
"Dark Souls" and How Bad Leaders End Great Kingdoms
Universally regarded as a masterpiece of the fantasy video game genre, Dark Souls not only features deep reflections on the nature of mankind, but also provides instruction on the proper character of a leader in a way that recalls The Republic or The Prince.
I had the dual posters of Haring/Watts in my tv room for many years. It’s more straightforward than “Lost Highway” but still a möbius movie.
There’s a multiverse world where this man is the IHOP manager in Orlando. He is loved by the early rising ex-military and elderly; he is loved by the late night teens sobering up before they go home; he is loved by his family and his community. On his days off and during the midday lull he works on a golf game. When soggy, sticky tourists come for a familiar bite with tots in tow, he welcomes them, a grandfather they never knew they needed. In his community, he is loved and revered. As his favorite clients die he clocks out for the memorial service and bows his head and prays to a merciful god on behalf of those he’s come to know in small ways. At night, he returns to a wife whose shared love with him burns golden and patient. He is happier.
Seriously, will pay cash money for a reboot of “Frog Bog.”
This shit would blow the gen alpha mind: you play a frog, in a bog, who eats…bugs. I remember the twilight time of date art and sound to be quite peaceful. And the night time play: challenging!
