Or is a ferry cheating?

It was lovely to see a mutual talking about sharing the joy of #Macross.
A few comments that Plus was their entry point, as was mine, mid-late 90's.
I saw the VHS tape, it looked interesting, and there were only 4 parts. A little easier on my teenage wallet 😋
And while "After, in the Dark" (the end song from ep1) had me desperate to get the next tape ASAP, I was hooked from the moment "Voices" was used over the opening scenes...
It's just a beautiful song.
And with that in mind, I share here:
https://youtu.be/cc-oNidgR1A
I hope you enjoy it.

Trying to explain to my colleagues the joy of the old TV series "Knightmare".
So tragic nobody is old enough to know it here. So sad!

2026-02-07 11:06:50 GMT

Ok. I knew I'd have Feelings.
Nostalgia is a very powerful thing.
I spent so many Friday evenings on this very platform. Waiting for Dad to come home after a week in London.
So many evenings watching my sister dance, or me singing (!) for passengers as a distraction.
Kinda embarrassing to remember that, now...
So much time hearing the Valenta scream as HSTs stopped, passengers moved through, and then pulled away, the engine burning a sound never to be forgotten into my soul.
I was happy here. I was inspired here and it absolutely had an impact on who I am and what I do.
Currently empty, waiting for the next period of hustle and bustle. It looks somewhat nondescript to my adult eyes, the way South stretching away into the gloom.
And I have feelings. Inside me, that child I was is bouncing with joy; the adult I am now feels sadly nostalgic.
I'm home. But it's no longer home. But part of my heart still resides right here...l

effects may vary by use method, dosage and just how your body reacts naturally

Ok. So, it's still in my head.
I went to bed at 11(ISH), tossed, turned, got uncomfortable and jittery (I get really antsy when tired but can't sleep) and gave up on the bed.
Hit the sofa, second prog and had to encourage the cat not to sleep on me. Twice.
Then I'm asleep. I don't recall "drifting off" but just *Out*.
Wake up to pee at 3.30, cos I'm old.
Extremely disappointed because my alarm goes off at 5am. An extra 90mins ain't great if I don't drop off quickly.
Settle in, remove cat from hip. Again.
And I'm just *out* again.
And then I'm dreaming. So vivid, so real. But I know I'm dreaming.
It's like an "on rails" experience, moving through a city, stuff going on around me.
At one point there's these stairs up to a raised section, kinda like at the entrance to Marseille St Charles, city skyscrapers off in the distance beyond this raised area, around and to the sides of me there's streets, cars, people doing their things and the buildings alongside are gorgeous old terraced houses, some shops.
I remember thinking how gorgeous it looks and grabbed my phone to take a photo, framing the stairs, and the terraces either side.
A d then kept moving on through the city, away to the right before my alarm cuts through and brings me, groggily, back to reality.
The fact I remember this and can still clearly recall - the "photo" remains crystal clear in my mind, even now, is wild to me.
And, yeah. I'm a wee bit crazy, right?

About talking Trans, maybe? Definitely a spitball take, feel free to tell me if I'm wrong or wot.
I think the message and narrative needs to find a way to resonate and be relatable to cis people.
I think it's easier if you can empathize with someone, to begin to understand their story.
And that's definitely a skill.
I think it also relies on willingness to be open to it from the cis side.
And from earlier, I feel empathy and understanding is very much lacking right now.
Maybe we need to just start by trying to get "ick" out of people's heads when trans people come up?
Or possibly lean into it: that ick you feel when this is talked about; how about if you felt that everyday about yourself?
I dunno.
Anyway, spitball away!

Company Mandated Rest Day again. Just the one day tho before back to it... Grabbed new meds, got my flu jab done and got a few bits including lunch.
Been crashed out with Munch since I got home.

Another pin lost from the lanyard today. It's sad because I really want to show my joy in the travels I've had.
Unfortunately, it's a difficult, probably not impossible to find pin too.
It was the Shinkansen pin.
So I'm a little gutted as that had pride of place.
Maybe I just need to accept it's time to remove all that's left to protect the remaining 😔😢

So, as ever, keeping up with the gaming times, I finally got my hands on Assassin's Creed Shadows.
Despite being half dead from a very busy day, my brain viewed it as the perfect time to try something new.
I've enjoyed the first few hours, although getting to grips with a new control scheme again is becoming a mundane annoyance of the series.
And, I now find I actually miss the meta narrative, the interwoven "real world" segments and the ongoing war.
I'll be interested to press on today (if brain deems it so) and learn to defeat whole new bad guys & poor "wrong place, wrong time" guards.
