The Samourai guys arrest is really touching to me.
I don’t care of what many people think about them, nor I care that SamouraiWallet handle unfollowed me years ago.
I do remember that it was my first Bitcoin wallet, that the ideas behind its functionalities were really regarded in terms of privacy and that the supported my educational efforts in Venezuela without hesitation.
I hope the best for them in this difficult moment, because I know that privacy matters and it’s a battle that worth to fight.
Then we parted ways, but I remain grateful and

Lo más reciente fue la decisión del BCRA de prohibir a proveedores de servicio de pago operar con criptoactivos de cualquier índole.
Hasta ahora, las decisiones y actitud de la administración Fernández no había causado ningún cambio en la escena cripto argentina, con USDT ganando presencia en las cuevas y usándose -junto a bitcoin- para compras de toda índole. Incluso ya se han visto unos pequeños -pero aún muy imberbes- brotes verdes de dolarización de facto en el comercio minorista.

Por años se ha intentado vender que "es bueno tener claridad regulatoria" en Venezuela, pero los hechos recientes, con la Sunacrip -en medio de un gran escándalo de corrupción- y TODOS los mineros regulados siendo investigados pese a cumplir con la susodicha permisología, demuestra que en Venezuela la estabilidad jurídica es un mito.
La ley la hace el chavista de turno en la institución que sea, como ha sido los últimos +20 años. ¿Lo peor? Muchos no pueden salir de ese círculo vicioso, así que tendrán que atravesar la coyuntura del momento, sentarse a negociar y esperar que pasen los meses/años y surja el nuevo evento que deje sin efecto los tan vanagloriados permisos.
Hay algunos que sufren del síndrome de Estocolmo y siguen viendo "el lado positivo de las cosas" y como "la industria" va a salir adelante.
Como si algo puede cambiar para mejor en Venezuela mientras el chavismo detente el poder...

So called bitcoiners coming from their first world countries atacking people in the ground in Africa/Latam just because they don't understand how things work or because they think that #Bitcoin adoption is only possible by their guidance.
Fuck off!
We do agree that shitcoins are dangerous and that we have to stay in #Bitcoin. The long term run is something where only BTC means a shit, specially beacause CBDC are coming... That's where we all agree!
But in practice and in this adoption phase that we're walking trough, developing markets are looking for dollars, so it's really normal that people ends up using also stablecoins. Should we demonize that? Even when I've been part of those blindly critizicing it for years, I don't think so.
I changed my mind in this particular matter and let me explain why:
The main option (USDt) is a centrallized and private issued token that also uses whatever blockchain yada-yada that they have to use to get the USD flowing.
It's obviously something different than Bitcoin but in these markets, it has a clear utility. We lack access to the USD and our currencies are worst than it and USDT grants that access (with its own limitations and trade-offs; again, stablecoins are not bitcoin. We do understand it, you're not specialy intelligent for pointing that out, we get it!).
Nobody wants to hold bolivars nor liras; but in our countries it's really difficult to get access to a USD bank account (which you probably already have, and even with the record inflation you're probably facing, it's nothing compared to what our currencies loss) and now that the banking system is feeling the pain, fighting to get that kind of access is even more dangerous.
The logic step is to go for Bitcoin, but it's not that normal to be able to save money so the volatility is something to take in mind. Long term views, low time preferences, those are rare privileges.
In fact, what makes Bitcoin interesting to the majority of people here is that they think that they'll get profits. For the vast majority of people is just a grab money thing... It isn't a political issue nor they're fightning for freedom and opting out the authoritarianism; we're not there yet.
And if you see that, and understand that maybe the references that you have in your country (Your USD/EUR savings collapsing, looking for other options, capital controls, fight against cash, CBDC, making a political stance) are not the same that we have in ours, you'll be able to stop moralizing what people does with their Bitcoin and how they teach it to others.
There is not an unique "bitcoiner" role model, because Bitcoin is something that humans use, and humans are diverse.
We share an ethos -those who are lucky enough to understand it- but that's not a final version of what people is suposed to do or to be.
Bitcoin is a tool, one that people is appropiating by theyselves in many different ways.
TLDR: If you want to help the Global South with #Bitcoin, just stop with the saviour complex🤷‍♂️

You don't need to sign to an specific wallet which probably will block ypu because it's a centralized and regulated party and Venezuela is an santionated state... But still, you can use Samourai or Wallet of Satoshi or Muun or Phoenix and each of them works pretty good!
