‼️Tip: Middle-paste has been disabled by default. Years (decades for yours truly) of muscle memory no longer work. I could find no toggle in GNOME Settings to re-enable it.
The fix is to open dconf Editor (you may need to install it) and search for 'paste'. Toggle the default to 'True'. #Linux #Fedora #GNOME

Why mess with Windows in the first place? I want to run a Wires-X PDN (Personal Digital Node), which requires Windows. Unfortunately, one can't get too far in the mainstream #HamRadio digital voice modes without having a spare Windows install laying around.

I've installed Linux via USB thumb drive probably 100 times. #Windows is a dumpster fire in comparison. Apparently the Win11 ISO is *literally* made to burn to DVD ROM. In 2025. It cannot be simply copied to a USB drive and booted.
#WoeUSB purportedly works around this. But it's no longer available in the Fedora repos.
#Ventoy has worked for me in the past, but not today.
Secure Boot is disabled. The Windows 11 .iso boots fine on KVM/QEMU.

It should, but it all depends on what flags it's compiled with. The Pentium Silver N6005 isn't old, but it's low-end- basically 4 Alder Lake efficiency cores. Intel decided to not support v3 instructions on it. A bit disappointing to realize that an enterprise Linux distro won't run on 3 year old CPU. We've crossed into new territory here. I don't fault #AlamaLinux, they're following Red Hat. #Linux

It’s not just the kernel, it’s glibc, etc.
I don’t think AlmaLinux has settled yet on whether to support v2 instructions in EL10. Deviating from RHEL and supporting v2 would require more work. Then there’s EPEL.
We’re taking in the bifurcations of arm for minimal benefit on x86, in my uneducated opinion.

On another note, it's a good thing I'm comfortable with the TrackPoint. My TrackPad is flaking out again like it did two years ago. I replaced it then and the issue was fixed. I've seen some Reddit posts where ThinkPad T-series owners have replaced their mylar TrackPads with glass TrackPads from the X-series. Looks like I have some research to do. #ThinkPad

When I see a picture from my youth from a time that I remember well, I'm a bit taken aback at how much fashion, hairstyles and cars have changed since then. And camera technology - the quality of some old photos is barely passable by modern standards. It makes that time seem so far away. I.e, I feel old.
Then, I listen to a song from that time, a song I haven't heard in a while. I'm transported back in time and additional memories start appearing.
