Tax reporting is the nightmare. Is there an efficient method to manage the tax requirements besides just dumping the data on an accountant and saying figure it out?

Listened to @nprofile…pdnt and Peter Schiff debate today. The most savage quote from Saif was,

Do we think that when Jesus told these people occupied by foreign warlords to love their enemies and go the extra mile when they’re occupiers demand for labor from them as a demonstration was hating them as you say? I believe I get your point in hating the world and hating sin, but I don’t find your framing in how Jesus conducted himself nor his instruction on how others to conduct themselves.

How about Matthew 5
43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.”

I certainly misunderstood the purpose of the notes.
I agree that evangelical Protestantism has made so many compromises with the world that it’s tough to recognize the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints.
But I still wonder if you find the reformed view without fault or weakness? And if so, how do you think about the patristics and the Eastern Orthodox who, at least in their own view, are not adulterating the word of God differ on key subjects such as determine election and predestination Free will total depravity, etc?

I think I’m generally in agreement with you but again I have questions. Isn’t applying the text only to the unregenerate and interpretation? Also do you find these types of memes and approach to sharing truth effective in engaging those who don’t already agree with you or is it mostly getting other reformed Christians to cheer for your boldness to speak inflammatory truths. I’m genuinely curious.

I hear you, I do think that success is not the best way to frame it. Is the country we are living in faithful to what the vision of the US founding fathers and those who have died in wars? I think we could agree that answer is certainly not. Just because a lot of good has come from it doesn’t justify broken means to achieve that end. I don’t think the goal was to be the least bad global option or the lesser of evils. I think the point is less to bash or be ungrateful for the US and more to follow in the footsteps of those who formulated the experiment and would not stand for the same old systems that deny individuals liberty and justice. I think statements like @nprofile…d0fn and the videos you see posted of these war veterans saying this outcome was not worth the sacrifice are less complaining and more echoing the founders call to reform (or maybe even prune) the broken parts of the system to recapture faithfulness the the experiment in means and ends.

A lot of cynics here, but your sentiment is not lost on all of us. It think we can acknowledge both that the experiment has gone awry and that, especially early on in the experiment, people really did sacrifice for freedom.
