My father taught me to think for myself. He said only two things are certain: death & taxes.
I am now a bitcoiner.
I'm thinking: i'll teach my kids to think for themselves, earn more than spend and keep their bitcoin safe and they'll go full marxist. 😅

I can't say everyone is corrupt at core, some probably are. But anyone can fork core codebase at any time, from any version. Hopefully some people do it.

5 years ago I said to some friends about how I feel buying when the price is low is so unfair to the people who understood it for years and kept buying higher. They thought I lost it. Anyway, no matter we are on the right track. Distribution is good too.

Indeed, I agree and feel the same. But to add: I think some of the smart bip-110 proponents know that it will fail but keep being vocal supporters to scare the inscriptors off, and it has somewhat worked. What do you mean with the CIA comment?

Imagine more groups have that kind of probabilistic brainwashing weapon. And one group turns the knob to "assasinate the guy", while another turns the knob to "protect the guy, he's a hero". I feel like you are on to something here... it would explain a lot i.e. all the polarity when you talk to people.

I agree. But when you consider average content creators incentives, they want the biggest audience and the most monetization. The only path to more nostr is more censorship and deplatforming elsewhere which is in itself the destruction of network effect, little by little. Like bitcoin it's a high chance but it will take many years. I think so many that it's a significant piece of one's lifetime. Someone who started as a student is then raising kids, having needs to provide and many other life challanges. So how do we expect people to just post on nostr and not elsewhere? Thoughts?

This thought reminds me of a text I've read of people in Weimar when inflation started a little but before the hyperinflation. Everybody was trading something, you name it. And many thoght they were good at it. Until everyone realized that the things you really want are just outperforming you.

He is so wrong. It's all about definitions. Bitcoin is money, the best money ever, but adoption is happening with a rate that is not acceptable to Shinobi. But we cannot force it any faster, just like you could not force cars to the horse users.

As a social service (dating) developer i encounter bots and scammer problems more and more, especially in recent years. My team is also considering all kinds of kyc-ish approaches, services that detect vpns, prevention of anonymous emails, etc. I don't like it one bit. But what do you think should one do? A awrvice can become unusable real fast if nothing is done to curate the users...?

I think the court can order it, github can enforce the repo change, but nodes will continue to validate transactions and not many will update to such a ridiculos version. Those that do will make a fork that will - like the rest - over time trend to 0.
