I've spent the day exploring Krakow. Walked around old town, and to Wawel castle. Krakow is a beautiful city, a lot of "touristy" than Gdansk, but the history here is amazing!

personally I think its the best rule set GW have. It's designed more for smaller games, rather than HUGE battles, but it does scale well from just a few troops, up to about 40 or 50 on each side.
There's no waiting around forever for your turn, both players move in the movement phase, then both do shooting, and then the fights happen, so it plays a lot better than 40K and AoS.
If you can find someone to give you an intro game I would recommend it!

this video will be me painting an Iron Warriors chaos Space Marine using only 5 paints (so lots of mixing of colours, creating shade and highlight colours using just the 5 paints). I've already made videos for all the Loyalist Space Marines, and series 2 is working through all the Chaos Legions. People seem to like the 5 paint videos, they often get more views than my tutorials using a full selection of paints.

Emperors Children is what I was going for! I've used Pink Horror because when your limited to only 5 paints, shading and highlights can be awkward. I've found that sometimes using a colour that isn't the traditional one, can give a better effect than using the "correct" colours.
The idea is for the final model is feel like the legion that it's supposed to be, rather than being lore accurate.

I tend to just use Citadel because for the original challenge where I painted up the starter set box using just the 5 paints they gave, it kind of set the standard of just using Ciadel. 95% of my videos are Citadel, because they are what most people have access to. At some point I should do a comparison between all the whites, and see which one is the best and if GW whites really are that bad!

Today I felt like painting a different kind of Space Marine, so I painted this guy up as a member of the Raptors chapter. I really like how he came out, it's a fun paint scheme and is quite a unique look for a Space Marine.

A Space Marine painted using a random colour generator for each area. It was an interesting experiment, and the result is a lot better than it could have been. It's a lot brighter than my normal painting style, but it could have ended up looking a lot worse.

Last night, I played some of the Lord of the Rings: Quest to Mount Doom board game. It's a really fun game. We only played with 2 players, but I can see how, with more, the mystery of who has the ring would be a really interesting mechanic.

paint bundles for all factions would be a really good idea, it wouldn't be hard for GW to do a bundle for all their factions.... but that doesn't seem to be the way they work unfortunately.

I think GW are doing paint sets for the Stormcast and Skaven, which have a bigger selection of paints in them. The new starter set will be great for getting people into the hobby, they will be able to paint the models to a very basic battle ready standard, which is all a beginner needs. It's probably smart business as to get them looking better will require buying a paint set, or at least additional paints.... so a smart business move

As the new Introductory Starter Set for Age Of Sigmar comes out next week, I thought I would paint up a Stormcast Eternal using just the paints (and a starter brush) that come in the set. Although you can get an OK result, the lack of a shade paint, black and white, really does limit what you can achieve with the box.
