Looks like #Germany is gone for good. Tragic how the #CDU in this government has broken every single campaign promise and still is holding on to power. #Bitcoin gains used to be tax free after a one year holding period (same as gold and collectibles). This is apparently going away now and bitcoin will be treated like stocks which means a 25% capital gains tax will apply.
The reason is obviously fairness BS and maybe also the fact that the government is incapable of managing money. Despite having around the highest tax rates on earth additional income is needed to keep the various state run Ponzi schemes such as the pay-as-you-go pension system afloat. It is painful how obviously parasitic those people are that occupy so many parliaments in the west.

Very well said. I’ve come to believe that #Bitcoin is no longer fighting a technical battle… that’s settled; it works. It’s also not fighting a financial battle. As much as everyone hates it, the fact that the suits are here proves that battle is won too.
The only important war still raging, and I believe it’s eternal, is over Bitcoin’s philosophy, its soul. That this war is currently fought so viciously is not a bug but a feature. It shows Bitcoin is still alive and well.
No actor in the space, no miner, no BIP, no other authority, will lead the way here. Every node on the network is responsible for what they want Bitcoin to be. Act accordingly, whatever that means for you. The results will punish or reward our actions.

If all productive jobs were gone, everybody would starve. So, something will happen before that point. I don’t think anybody can know what that “something” is going to be, but in essence, it will be an event that changes people’s mindsets back to being willing to create value rather than extracting it from others. You shall not steal… until then tensions will rise and people will only get angrier…😪

If the job of a government bureaucrat was to provide value to taxpayers, you would be right and AI would finally be the technology to right-size governments.
I’m afraid that is not what their job actually is. Ultimately, everyone on the government payroll ensures the system keeps going as is—extracting value from everyone still actually creating value.
I have come to believe that government employees are already receiving a form of UBI, together with the implicit oath to keep the system going.

Took my first deer yesterday and processed her myself. A friend taught me how to do it.
I think taking an animals life is something extremely sensitive and should be approached with the utmost respect. I also strongly believe that men shouldn’t be disconnected from the consequences of their actions… as it happens way too often nowadays. #Hunting and everything that follows is becoming a lost art. I love #meat and now being able to understand a lot better where it comes from is a gift. It’s interesting that this experience has increased my love and respect for life even further.

Fair. I would argue that the way federalism works in the US is far superior to what is going on in the EU and this puts a certain constraint on top down overreach. Ultimately Americans have more opportunities to vote with their feet and states that get it wrong are punished by that while states that get it right will benefit in the long run.
Also I would argue that the way the European regulatory bodies are being assembled is way more disconnected from the actual voter than in the US. Check how Ursula von der Leyen came to power. I have lived in both regions and I indeed think the EU has more in common with the USSR than with the USA. The US has many issues with permanent bureaucracies, overreach and what have you but it has also mechanisms to heal. I sadly don’t see these mechanisms in the EU.

When #Bitcoin bottomed the last time around $16k I looked at my $20 daily #DCA and thought: With only 450 newly mined BTC per day it requires only 360,000 psychopaths like me to absorb the entire new supply…
Today it requires 2 Mio hardened psychopaths to absorb the newly mined coins.
Sure OG’s are selling, but they can only sell as many as they already have and if the psychopaths don’t stop buying the price will just go back up to find the equilibrium with the new issuance.
Being short Bitcoin is basically betting against a certain number of people being:
a) sufficiently #FED up with the current system,
b) smart enough to consider sound money as solution
and c) open for technology.
Currently that number happens to be 2Mio at $20/day. Even if you only consider “the wealthy” part of the world it is far less than 1%.

Brilliant explanation of #Marxism.
Very relevant to understand the playbook as it is applicable to so many things.
1. History is defined by the struggle between an oppressor group and an oppressed group (worker vs capitalist, black vs white, religion A vs religion B, climate victims vs climate sinners, Main Street vs Wall Street etc).
2. There is an elite among the oppressed who understands what’s going on and they have the right and duty to lead the oppressed to overthrow the system for the greater good.
3. This elite centralizes power around themselves.
4. Kill everybody who disagrees.
5. Utopia.
Every movement can fall into this dynamic as it is the logic consequence of the human desire for power. Even worse, if the wheels are in motion it feeds on itself as it draws in the worst characters that continue to escalate.
Genuine wisdom and courage is needed to not go along and ultimately stop it.

I share your experience. Raised in Europe, I couldn’t connect with Christianity. Drawn to science and logic from an early age, I rejected religion as unnecessary. Even now, I struggle with the concept of self-sacrifice as the highest virtue. I see great danger in sacrifice, as determining the right cause feels like an unsolvable puzzle.
However, after living in the US for many years, I’ve noticed that the best people I’ve met are religious. It’s clear they draw strength from their faith. While I’m not a believer, I genuinely feel they have something beautiful in their lives that I can’t access. I don’t envy it, as I don’t believe faith can be forced. Still, it makes me wonder if they are closer to the truth than I am and whether I’ll ever reach that understanding.

I came to understand that two character traits define being #German:
1. „Being right is more important than being alive.“
If the world ends tomorrow for something the Germans warned you about they will happily perish while waving their finger reminding you that they told you so.
2. „The perfect machine must exist and Germans will build it.“
If everybody is just sufficiently aligned and in unity, a machine or bureaucracy can be built that doesn’t require further inputs and can run everything automatically for the greater good. Basically a perpetual motion machine. That’s why Germans love authority and the state and why they are so prone to #socialism.

Maybe another thought. #Bitcoin has this cool feature of being perfect memory for one thing and no memory at all for other things. If you attack it, it will punish you for doing so. The moment you come to terms with it and stop, it will be as if you never did anything and you will just become another user benefiting like everybody else.
It doesn’t hold a grudge while still being relentless in defending itself.

I think a good indicator for the soundness of a value or principle is that you are willing to hold it, even for people you don’t like or even oppose.
That’s what I am trying to do here. Basically I am simping to my values. Anyway I see your point.

Can’t say I am a fan of Roger Ver as he is shitcoining… but it doesn’t matter. Taxes are theft. Locking somebody up for the rest of his life, even if it was true that he didn’t pay his taxes, can never be legitimate in my opinion.

I see your concern. We’ll find out if they can really capture and corrupt #bitcoin in the long run. So far I think everybody that messed with it blew up and it just kept going unfazed. Evil will never go extinct and the people you are talking about will always be around. I believe that productivity is the only sustainable and ethical source of power and FIAT can only go on for so long… breaking the money printer therefore is the most importing task of my generation as this is how they keep the racket going. Maybe I am too optimistic about it but I haven’t seen a better chance yet…😪

The leviathan will not surrender without fighting. It is going to be an uphill battle for a while to purge the unelected bureaucrats out that are wielding the majority of the power. #bitcoin is the most powerfully tool to starve the beast but I think way more citizens need to wake up to the fact that the elected officials are not the main problem but the swamp underneath them…

I like the approach 👍🏼.
There is no moral case to justify theft. There are currently two ways by which the government steals.
1) By printing money and diluting the productive achievements of everybody to redirect resources to the state.
2) By coercion if necessary at gun point.
For 1) my hopes are with #bitcoin which can help to enforce absolute property rights for the individual.
For 2) the price of freedom is eternal vigilance and the 2nd amendment was created exactly for this.
As people I think the most important KPI for every government should be government spending vs. Private sector productive output. If that goes beyond let’s say 20% the leviathan is getting too big and it needs to get shrunk.
Individually we all need to remember that there are only two modes of interaction…
Voluntary
Force
… only one is ethically sound.
And I think this is your main argument that I fully agree to 🫡.
