#Notedeck is so simple. I love it. It forces you to interact with your peers. I do miss the zapping but now that I'm interacting, I'd probably go bank if enabled! :D

It's very simple.
- Secrecy involves protecting the secret at all cost because if it gets out, you'll suffer greatly.
- Privacy however, involves protecting yourself by layers of obfuscation, not the secret; well, because there's no secret! (In this case you may not necessarily fear to suffer, but you're selectively revealing your life)
From Duduckgo AI:
"Privacy is your right to have your own thoughts, feelings, and experiences that you may not feel compelled to share with anyone, including setting boundaries around accessibility. Secrecy, on the other hand, is the intentional act of hiding or withholding information from others due to consequential impacts, often driven by shame and fear."

Oh wow I really love all your reasons. I also love the Simplex approach because you can just post it on FB for a while to give time for folks (who want to keep in touch with you) to adjust smoothly and do so within a reasonable timeframe, while giving the finger to Zuckerberg because you still have to approve whoever is trying to connect with you.
Other apps are more difficult in that area IMO. So yeah I like this approach, I haven't thought about it that way I have to admit.

Congrats 👏!! This must have been super hard to do. I remember having mustered the courage to go through with it and my dad in 2019 discouraged me from doing so. Although I rarely use FB, I didn't delete it because he said not to. He has now passed away and it's even harder to delete it now. The delete action isn't hard, I'm just making sure that when I do it, it was obvious because it was the right thing to do and I'm super convinced the memories live forever inside of me. Good God It felt so good to read this post. Thank you.

Anywho, I noticed that I have a more pleasant experience pasting my private key and using the default browser relays, vs using my browser extension because it doesn't have my relays preconfigured.

@npub1tft…xar5 ('s 3rd party vendor) leaked a cute email I had back on 8/10/22 and that I used to subscribe to swan marketing list somehow. All that eventually lead to said email now used in [unsuccessful] phishing attacks not once but 2x in late 2024. Thank God I used fake names and my email wasn't including my name in it.
Moral of the story: As much as you love your cute email address, please use aliases every.FREAKING.where instead. I know 2 options:
