Unfortunately, in order to get your message to as many people as possible, you have to send it where people will actually see it. Whether we like it or not, thats twitter and Facebook.
You can definitely ask them (in all likelyhood youll be talking to a PR firm) to add mastodon, but until mastadon hits critical mass, they aren't gonna drop twitter.

Bed frames are feminine, put that mattress on the floor. While your at it, get rid of the sheets, bare mattress it up.
Lighting is too fancy, fancy is feminine. Plain flickering bulb is what you want for ambiance.

Imagine every day I ask you what the color of the sky is. There are a bunch of forum threads that tell me the sky color, there is a wiki with sky color information, and the search can give me the sky colour. I have all the information I need to work out the sky color, but I still keep asking you.
That is what these communities often deal with, it grinds you down and gives you have a short fuse.

There are thousands of federated instances, and datamining isnt an obvious bad activity, so realistically, dataminers will fall through the cracks.

Bummer. You could get a cheap IoT light bulb/smart plug and ping it in a script, when it times out, start the shutdown. Could be a fun project.

Some (most?) UPSs have a way for them to communicate to the PC so that the PC can automatically cleanly shutdown. You should look into that if its available on your UPS.

An Discord is owned by MS, who have a relationship with OpenAI. Fair assumption that the closed ones are scraped as well.

This is EE, we've yet to see Extinguish yet. This is kinda how APIs grow, see also: browser APIs.
Someone implements a new api, makes it usable. Other users can also implement or tweak, and later down the line it is standardised by a committee (or by defacto).
Extinguish is only really possible if you can add an API that your competitors cannot implement, either due to technical reasons or licencing. ActiveX was what did it for Browsers.
The fact that this API has been implemented means that Extinguish has not happened.
