it is kind of surprising that newer cars don't warn you about this. one problem is that lead acid batteries often fail in a way where they have a normal voltage but when any load is applied to it, it just dies (this is called a surface charge)
but the car could detect a failing battery by measuring the voltage while the starter is cranking, just like how you can sometimes catch a battery is near failure if you hear it cranking much more slowly than normal (admittedly this trick worked better on older cars which were a lot louder)

it's fucking sick. for the people supposedly chosen by god to own the land, they sure have absolutely no respect for it (and even less for the people already living there)

that's literally what always happens. these debates were always a complete waste of time even when one of the candidates wasn't a senile fascist

that was a good video btw. i remember the media hyping up this dumb book when it came out even though it's little more than propaganda

i just started watching this video about jd vance's shitty book: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8UaN7ncowM
haven't finished yet, but one fact that i didn't know is that he didn't grow up poor like he pretends to, he grew up in a solidly middle class home. his parents made $160k combined! in the 90s! in a shitty small city that's (still) super cheap
i'm about the same age as him (ugh) and also grew up in small town ohio, and i can tell you that literally all of my classmates considered anyone making over $100k to be actually rich. which isn't entirely wrong given how low cost of living was back then in that area (a very nice huge house with a big yard would have been less than $200k, and nice but smaller houses were less than $100k)

interesting! i guess that makes sense that she would have hated the crony capitalism of the republicans, not to mention their explicitly christian framing

oh weird! i wonder if she'd hate modern republicans just as much

that quote does assume a lot about you! that's just another form of assigning a gender
i'm glad you had a space to explore and meet others with all sorts of different gender identities! it's been really helpful for me too. i'm very much in the process of figuring out exactly where i fit as well. i wouldn't be surprised if i end up as full transfem eventually but i also feel really good about being sort of generically nonbinary especially now that I'm on hrt :3

for the record i thought some of the jokes aimed at you were a bit too far, but i'm still pretty new here so i didn't feel like it was my place to intervene.
i think overall it's a good idea not to try to crack the eggs of others or to call someone an egg unless they identify that way. i think if someone had tried to do that to me, say, 5 years ago i probably would have clammed up and doubled down on being cis
if someone had done it 1 year ago it probably would have helped me along, but i also think that it's impossible to know exactly where someone else is at so i'm glad no one tried with me
