Was aghast to find that my local library had neither #Enshittification nor The Reverse Centaur's Guide.
Requested both.
Earlier today I got a voicemail from a lovely Librarian that physical copies have been ordered for both as well as audio books added to Libby.

A news report said that a state of emergency was declared and that respirators and air purifiers will be distributed. Said to call 211 for details.
Called 211, was told the Red Cross was distributing them.
Called red cross, got transferred to a person who only had shelter locations and no idea what resources were available.
Well done following up, Journos! *sigh

What is your opinion of Captain Jack's Dead Bug?
A neighbor recommended it, but I'm not convinced he's well informed.

If I use Castile soap, would you happen to know the soap to water ratio I should use?
Or is Neem oil better (I have both).

Plea for diagnosis.
Please help!
What are these black bumps on my fig's leaves?
Looks lime some kind of a beetle but they stay put in the same spot so maybe not?
Is there a way to get rid of them without poisoning the fruits?
I'm in zone 10a.
Boosts appreciated. 🙏

Hi David!
I adore your comics - especially Avian Intelligence!
Do you have RSS feeds for them? I'd love to add them to my reader so I can get notified as soon as you drop a new one. But had trouble locating feeds on your website.
Thanks!

Somewhere in Norway there's a metal band called "Radium Suppository."
I don't know if this is true; I just really, really want it to be.

Hey Cory,
re: https://pluralistic.net/2026/01/16/interrupt-driven/#ping
Do you have a more detailed write-up somewhere on how you filter your email?
I just switched to #thunderbird and struggling to come up with a clean strategy.
This is harder than it seems.
Also, how do you get #thunderbird to automatically add people to whom you reply to your address book? My searches were not fruitful.

The Take Your Pills app shares data with Google.
It encourages users to enter the actual medication they take and set reminders for when they take it.
Or as Google calls it, "wonderful personal information to sell to health insurance companies."
The Daily Pill app, available in the F-droid store does none of those shitty things and is just as useful.

I just finished the "Bringing back self-help" chapter of #Enshittification where you talk about the laughable anti-circumvention exemption, bringing up blind people.
That made me wonder, has @npub1m24…d9a3 or others try leveraging the ADA in the US in the fight against anti-circumvention?
Seems an evident barrier to access.

Does anyone have a non-youtube link to this amazing speech?
I didn't find it on peertube nor in the Internet Archive, although I thought Cory said it got uploaded there.

Good stuff.
I also remap ctrl-b to ctrl-a because I don't use screen anymore .
And I like to bind:
`|` to open a vertical split pane, and
`-` for horizontal
