Also bekommen wir jetzt die Vögel als Geldscheine? Alles andere war ja nicht ernstzunehmen...

There have been some ideas about "Micropayment-based Spam Control" going back some 20 years, but apparently this never really took off.

@npub1z3m…zn2f Have you seen this? This should maybe go on the list of "Designer Vulnerabilities":

I guess the starling misses a critical skills of the pidgeons in said RFCs: Wayfinding.
Without this, it's more of a (stochastic) broadcast scenario: The data gets distributed to wherever the birds like to fly. I would also not count on privacy.

Instead of #GluePeople we should have said #DuctTapePeople, maybe this would get the point across:
They run and fix what the organization can't.
(If you get rid of them, things will fall apart)

Maybe uninformed question for those of us not running hardware permanently themselves (i.e., using laptops):
How long does it take for a newly connected node to become net-positive for the swarm (contribute more than it takes)? And can it keep state over subsequent runs?

Maybe it would help if you got this call for help translated into as many different languages as possible?
People will not necessarily notice if you post this in English...

There are lots of people who want to leave Twitter on Jan 20, but it seems a French university has launched a new tool to make switching easier.

This reads like an advertisement. Did you write this yourself?

Far shot, but I once read an article on how to transform a single file #Python script into a "serious" Python application (not only with modules, but also defined dependencies, build and deployment process, and so on).
With today's search engines I can't find it any more, the search terms are pretty generic.
Do you have any idea? I'm not interested in generating one with an IDE, I'd like to understand what's happening in the process.

This post suggested to use the #seedswap hashtag as @npub1sh5…uyrq asked a similar question in April.

I must admit I didn't think of this idea myself. I wonder about two things:
- These machines have to be oiled on a regular basis to keep their sharpness - how would the oil affect the worms?
- Paper cuttings from shredders can have quite sharp edges - is this a problem for the worms?
