Finally, there also seems to be a strong causation between a country's GDP and its avg IQ. That's why poor countries rarely score on innovation.
And low-IQ people are not very good at telling the difference between good and evil. I mean, it *can* be a philosophical conundrum at times.
At least, these are my observations regarding"the majority" from my thirty-something years here.
And that's why—here—the craft is probably best left to self-selection and the seekers.

Here, profane inconveniences preoccupy people and eat away their time. Those who manage to rise above, either through their own fortune or that of their parents, default to hedonism.
Finally the body can be fed. I find it understandable. Human nature is innert. We default to more of the same. Our actions, influenced by the environment, create habits, and habits create identity. And what would an environment of "lack" create?

We all seem to play a role on the stage that is life. Either through action or inaction.

Due to the screwy nature of the environment here and the people (everyone for themself) I seem to have taken to heart a phrase either from O.T.O. literature or something by Crowley (maybe Thelema):
Know, dare and remain silent.
And while there is a core of progressives, most people are judgy AF. That's why (here) the whole thing with the seekers and the filtering and self-selection seems to work out.

But I know that if it's The States we're talking about, it might work out mostly fine. Diversity and inclusiveness is your thing, after all.
I hear there are large communities of Wiccan in parts of Eastern Germany. So there's that, too. And German is to Europe when US is to the World.
Lastly, you might find it interesting: outside of social media/video or back when didn't exist, you'd get acquainted with these topics either through word of mouth or piracy websites. 5/

Before Christianity, the predominant religion here has been Tengrism which has left a strong attunement to Nature in more than a few of us. We have/had many prominent psychics and it's still possible to hear of some old lady in a nearby village that receives visits from all over.
My "local point of view" is being skeptical re widespread adoption. Giving magick to people stuck in survival mode feels like arming chimps with assault rifles.

So there's that – a lot of people have their heads up their asses.

Life here is poorly organized, or just messy. As my part-Canadian friend calls it (and I agree): death by a thousand cuts.
Corruption, borderline poverty, and the government working for the mafia – an environment of decay. And, trust me, this messes with everyone's heads. When you witness the lives (or ends thereof) of some around you, you instantly kick into survival mode, even if there is no immediate threat.

River Crow, it's hard to explain. The main factor is not religion (educated guess). The average person is cold, withdrawn and selfish. Unless you're a celeb or a tourist, perhaps. We don't have the radical inclusivity I hear about from The States, we don't have political correctness, or cultural appropriation. That's Bulgaria for you. Leave the capital and you travel to 2015. Leave the larger cities for the countryside – early 2000s.

Honestly, I remain a bit skeptical re the widespread adoption of magick, but:
1) I'm from South-Estern Europe (a.k.a. The Balkans) and I've been told by a Bulgarian with North-American upbringing that the society here differs in mindset, compared to The States. People, too.
2) Being reminded people like you and River Crow are there to set personal example and offer guidance, makes me feel a bit better on all that, honestly.

What is your perspective on the following: in my modest experience, the attitude of "normies" towards witchcraft/Wicca falls into three categories: 1) put us in the same boat with baby-eating Baal worshippers; 2) don't give a damn, prefer to watch Netflix instead; 3) Engage in witchcraft for, to quote: "the aesthetic".

Disabling redundant core blocks is not possible because:
* with PHP is not allowed through allowed_blocks_type_all because *core blocks*;
* with CSS (display: none; and hooking on admin_init) because the only possible selector for a block is a randomly-generated ID via JS at page load.

– Yes. Bots *will* be hammering your install and now you have AI scrapers, to enjoy, too.
Hiding your wp-login page, blocking author queries, updating your robots.txt to block AI scrapers.

WordPress is desinged to be adjustable to a plethora of use cases and the docs reflect that.
If you are someone who simply wants to configure their site with a theme and a few plugins, the docs can be too broad when answering specific questions for such rather minimalist use case.
Also, a lot of configuring is done in htaccess, which is not exactly a WP thing.

Well, I don't feel great for potentially turning away someone from WP, so here's a middle ground I would suggest:
Skeptically try it out and if it feels like you're getting into a rabbit hole, move on to another CMS/tool.
After all, if you have a simple task, you're probably better-off with a simple tool.

Perhaps a good first step would be firewalling the server, making sure no open sockets remain, and whitelisting just a few ips you will be accessing from (at least two static ones, to make sure you don't lock yourself out).

i.e.: change paddings of a container? Sure. Have different padding on mobile/desktop? tHiS iSn'T tHe InTeNdEd ExPeRiEnCe.
It's also worth considering what workflow you would like. Blocks vs TinyMce. Posting by email is nicely implemented through a plugin, but you might be better-off with Markdown files and a static site generator. Etc.

...documentation reads like a complete, full-featured product that merely receives additions.
On the other hand, if you go for "classic themes" be prepared to face some poorly written themes in the top few, by pooularity. Haven't checked beyond.
As someone with WP for about 20 years, the project feels in a weird place right now, for said reasons.
So keep in mind it might, but not neccesarily, force you to deal with weird issues down the road.

Slightly sidebar, but couple of thoughts on deliverability:
Imo, the best tool to test against, for not getting flagged as spam: https://mecsa.jrc.ec.europa.eu/
Also, if you want to maximize deliverability, seatch for an smtp service that's being used by airport, booking websites. They have their ip's whitelisted by major email providers so they don't worry about reputation or false positives.

If there is something I will forever remember SomaFm with, that's the channel playing the radio from San Francisco's police force. Then another channel is the police chatter mixed with ambient music and added reverb.
Whoever came up with that idea, what a legend.
Nowadays the radio channel is basically defunct because the PD have moved to an encrypted channel.
The Secret Agent and DEF CON channels are also cool. And a few dozen channels more.

The amygdala in the brain, processing fear and anxiety, increases in size as we age. That's why ppl aged 60-70 are prone to get easily startled or getting paranoid (i.e. someone breaking into the house).

In terms of switching up things, after using KDE Plasma for 10+ years (no TUI yet), I installed Debian 13 Mate on my "plan B" laptop the other day. I had forgotten how neat this "traditional" aesthetic can be. Pondered daily driving it for a moment there!

I've never owned a Pi, but running from RAM sounds like the perfect use case. I haven't tried Alpine, but did so with TinyCore. Same concept, I suspect.
Paradoxically, there wasn't a perceived difference: the 32-bit, 1 core, 2 threads CPU is so slow that it can't fill up its 2GB RAM in any reasonable time frame :D
The solution (so far) is having everything run within a single app (to prevent load times). That's why I'm trying Emacs as a productivity suite.

Haha, it did take a few hours to compile!
When time allows, I tinker with the old thing to see what use I can get from it. Permacomputing style :D
Debian grants access to rather modern binaries, but I gotta go TUI to get usable responsiveness.
For a long time I've wanted to tinker with Emacs and now feels like a use case for it. TUI for writing and research. Links2 and for everything else – Emacs.
Or maybe I'm just a masochist :D Will be fun to write from this thought.

Absolutely! I've learned a new "computer ideology term." The others are: permacomputing and "minimalcomputing."
Gentoo sounds nice. For now I'll stick with Debian. Maybe I'll compile more, though 😁 btw: recently I compiled latest emacs on an eee pc 1005ha from 2009 and I realized just how much money I've been leaving on the table.

What made you switch? I know near to nothing about Gentoo, besides that it relies heavily on compiling software rather than running pre-compiled binaries. And the performance boost of compiling your own binaries, of course.
