Their idea of "paraphilia" is anti medicalist, so it bases itself around definitions of what is socially normative. Under this definition a hebephile can be paraphilic, even if 80-95% of shrinks disagree that hebephilia is paraphilic.

2025-04-04 21:12:45 GMT

It has happened already, in that the serious "paraphile" discourse is inclusive of MAPs on mainstream social, even with the effect of censorship. Some of the major Zoophiles are supportive of moderately pro-c MAPs.

Wanting a liberal-left MAP community without allying with paraphiles just won't work, IMO. You start with big fat 0 supporters except 1 random leftist debate bro from 2005 secular web.
Same as wanting a pro-youthlib MAP community with utter refusal to be or work with "woke" (I say this because someone seriously suggested it when we were drawing up plans for Mu). You have an idea with literally 0 cache, so what's the point?
Biggest sell to MAPs IMO is convincing them it makes sense to go alone, without the dog lovers, paraphiles and fiction people.
Biggest sell to the public is anything pro-c with preteens.

Yes, by not associating the MAP identity with any form of radicalism, not the 4chan type, not the trad type, not the paraphile/uber-violent-identity type. Unite and sell to liberals using the Obama big pedodaddy statesman strategy with radical incrementalist centrism.
This might not be wholly accurate, but...

I've been speaking to someone who while apparently good-intentioned, spends occasional 1 week stints in the community, and still pines for the 1980 Tom O'Carroll, or 2006 Lindsay Ashford "pedo statesman" approach. They don't want to build bridges (laugh at the idea, which I always find revealing, given just how critical the matter is).
Here are some ideas for firing back at similar philosophies, key underpinning argument being they already failed for reasons that haven't changed since.

Most of the activity on fediverse goes on via erotica servers, although those will probably not be visible in the future due to censorship. Yesmap has 70 monthly active accounts and has resisted censorship. MAPSupport has been resilient to censorship because of its rules, similar to this one. The aim of both servers is to go under the radar and be visible to internet archaeologists at some point in the future, but I know less about MAPSupport. It's owner is a single point of failure, as far as I know. You should maintain accounts on multiple servers.

I can't be certain that work, conversation (of any degree of complexity), relationships (of any type) are essentially "adult", beyond what is proscribed by social norms.
The consent age is itself a social norm that exists, supposedly to thwart it's own violation.
It seems that in deciding what is, and what is not "adult" content, thoughts, discourse, behaviour, we appease the lie that those type of restrictions are utilitarian and not fundamentally normative.
Perhaps by challenging the idea that "sexual" content or relations are an "adult" thing, we can at least change the norm somewhat, and adjust the boundaries accordingly to reflect.

They will also try to lawyer with you over what is, and what is not promotion of "pro-contact ideology" or whatever they are calling it. Instead of just enforcing the rule.
This is deliberate. They want you to plead with them, and deny you are what they are accusing you of being, because this associates ideology with a power-dynamic that favours them.

2025-03-23 13:53:00 GMT

- reply

Oh, this is making more sense. I remember you, now.
You have some ideas they would see as hegemonic, so they will attack you for it.
Anything anti-sex work (whorephobia), anti-child (ageism), pro-purity-culture would trigger them. And I don't just mean those explicit positions, but anything that might be interpreted that way, or evincing a thought process that is less than pure.
Did you also know, that Tumblr anti-c's like that (not as in the full-blown antis) rarely have any philosophical foundation for being anti-c? It's a personal preference based off experience, and sometimes even kink preferences as to whether or not it's desirable for a "minor" to show agency. Very often, this has only ever been thought through within the realm of fiction, and it shows.
They are a hivemind, so reasoning with them is a waste of your time.

2025-03-22 21:35:59 GMT

- reply

So that is the kind of POV I would expect them to try and build bridges with. I suspect their aggression towards you is a result of misinterpreting something you have said, or simply the fact that you have a presence on "pro-c" servers.
You should be made aware, though, that the two administrators of that server have a long-running feud with pro-c's, and only selectively permit pro-c's on their server. Officially, the stance is banned, when expressed openly, as in the form of an argument.
I was also personally attacked, accused of targeted harassment and holding various personal beliefs, then had my server reported to ICMEC by the administration of the server. This is after I redesigned a flag and disagreed personally with the administrators, so that's just a taste of the kind of people you are dealing with.

2025-03-22 16:39:13 GMT

@npub1wyn…0y5c You are aware of the history of the other server, and why they might be less than welcoming of anything supportive of pro-c, right? Just checking.

The interesting bit is - as these laws proliferate in red states, there will be plenty of opportunities for shitlibs to get drawn into the fight. Texas, with its large liberal metro population could be a Petri dish. There is a risk the right will overplay their hand, and inadvertently liberal-code some kind of "pedo normalisation", starting from some kind of civil libertarian, freedom of thought basis. It may be their intention to get the ACLU on board with defending online pedophiles.

It makes sense in that "child protection" is ultimately moralistic and disciplinary in nature, since it seeks and punishes deviance among youth, and those who in their eyes would encourage or condone it. There are judges in America who talk unironically of "crimes against childhood" (an institution) rather than against children.

It is quite plausible. Imagine a group who might have presumed they would get swept along on the tide of gay liberation, but then their allies start beating them, aided by self-avowed feminists and the media/establishment. Later in life, you might expect some of these them to become more than cynical, but aligned with conspiratorialism, and spiteful towards the LGBTQ movement. I'd imagine these types who never found a way to get what they wanted would be left behind, and more vocal on the discussion boards.

They are historically illiterate. This is, or was until recently also the case among younger MAPs.
Mattachine itself was an early queer organisation, with no particular focus on condoning chicken hawks, but it's founder Hay, was a communist and former AAM. Later queer orgs such as Gay Liberation Front, COC, VSH, FHAR, CHE, Albany Trust and ILGA did collaborate with and endorse pro-c MAP initiatives.

2025-03-14 21:01:12 GMT

- reply

It's not exactly a fair estimation of anti-c ideology, as we are not considering the target audience. Only the behaviour of a reactionary core. I suspect many of these antis are secretly pissed at MAPs who do not fit in to their pigeonhole, so attack harder.

2025-03-14 13:25:22 GMT

- reply

Said individuals are already exposed. Their aim is to maintain presences on multiple fronts in order to proliferate and provoke among the widest possible audience. For example, his response to being told to migrate demonstrated he believes he is some kind of underdog radical fighting against communism. Because their ideology does not make any sense, the strategy is to be edgy, and look cool in online interactions.

2025-03-14 13:15:50 GMT

- reply

Eliminating all forms of radicalism as a community would not be a good look, but there are spaces suited to most of them, which is unique for such a small community. The problem is servers function like echo chambers, and peddle prohibited images. It is apparently possible to log on to a server based in one country where lolicon is prohibited, and find prohibited images on their feed by virtue of their users following that content.

Please do not try pushing the limits of moderation with respect to disclosure of disreputable, legally problematic behaviour, or pushing ethnonationalism.

Next phase for pedophiles is removal of "pedophilic disorder" language from DSM. It will likely be replaced by "paraphilic disorder" etc, which might include pedophiles, but only under the condition they have sexual contact with a prepubescent child or experience distress. After that, there is typically a drive to reclassify the disorder as an "egodystonic" thing, i.e. it is only disordered because it causes distress. This might be hard to achieve for pedophiles, as there will likely still be intensive taboo against pedosexual behaviours.

POCD would require you "not to be an actual pedophile", which would be the worst thing imaginable and indistinguishable from wilfully molesting a child. It would on the other hand, bizarrely give you unfettered access to children, as immersion is the cure for obsessive and compulsive thoughts.

2. Failing that, how, at the practical level, civilized societies can make a success of merging the categories (they have not so far).

Not so much blocked, but not funded, and ethically guided towards a certain conclusion (investigate harms without a comparison group, proper exp. control, etc).

I never researched it fully, so my reading is surface-level.
I do need more writing on the 1980s pedo panics and trauma-memory axis of research.

It can be anything. People respond to manias and peer pressure both above and below the conscious level. Gullible, approval-seeking people can also be convinced to believe something happened (tortured by sadist clown), or that they are something (cat).

Some personality types are predisposed towards dissociation, plurality, multiplicity, etc as coping mechanism.
Therapy and social hysteria/mania can be a cue for these events, more so than the single traumatic events alleged to have taken place, or falsely implanted by the therapy.

I get the strong feeling that harm and validity discourse is often where moderate neurodivergence meets the drive to "be one of the good ones".

This is someone's overheated brain fart about "harmful" Paraphilia they just randomly pumped out on a Wiki site after spending years trying to reconcile tumblrites and pizzagate on X.
Only slightly disarmed by its playful, stream-of-conscience style.

Attack their entire corpus, then, don't merely seek to divorce yourself from it.

The term "predator" is a relic of 1980s law enforcement and victimological feminism. Its only viable use would be against persons who express complete disregard towards the willingness of others, in all situations, sex inclusive. But it is always destined to be abused as a vehicle for bolstering accusations, scapegoating and stripping selected targets (young people) of agency.
