The main problems with it stem from the fact that it's deliberately marketed as a historical fact when in reality it's a pseudohistorical fantasy novel that belongs in the fiction section of the library. Being a work of fiction need not detract from whatever wisdom is present, but misrepresenting it as factual renders all that wisdom moot, as evidenced by the 2,000 year track record of violent bigotry stemming from it's application.

Britain was colonised by the Beaker culture in about 2,500 BCE onward, who replaced the original ancient neolithic hunter gatherers. Celts didn't start settling Britain until the bronze age (1300-800 BCE) through the iron age (~750 BCE onward). During the 2nd century CE Roman period there were also about 5,500 Sarmatian (East Iranian) mercenaries who settled there, as well as a smaller contingent of Mauretanians (ie. North Africans), Syrians, Lebanese, etc. You could say the Roman period is evidence that "Diversity built Britain" if you concede that it involved violent conquest, and eventually fell apart. The Germanic mercenaries (foederati, aka: Anglo-Saxons) were invited in to defend against attacks from the indigenous Scots and Picts, and ultimately stuck around to assume authority once the Romans essentially abandoned the colony in the early 5th century. Then you have the Norman conquest, and so on.

Not quite. More specifically the Greek word used in Matthew 1:23, Luke 1:27, and Luke 1:34 (παρθένον, parthenos) doesn't necessarily mean "woman who had never had sex" in spite of how it gets interpreted/translated. Also the prophesy (vaticinium ex eventu) it's said to fulfil (Isaiah 7:14) has nothing to do with the birth of a messiah. Instead it mentions a child named Emmanuel who's imminent birth would signal the end of a siege of the kingdom of Judea by two foreign nations during the time when Isaiah was still alive.
Another thing worth pointing out that's not mentioned in this lecture is that "messiah" (anointed) is a standard term referring to all kings and high priests in the line of David, and the OT verses using that term all state clearly there will be two (a king and a high priest) who rule side by side as was normal in any day and age.
That said, I'm sure you not only won't watch the lecture, but even if you do you'll probably just knee-jerk reject the information since it doesn't confirm your existing delusion, in which case ... yes, on top of being quite gullible and superstitions, you're also very dumb. But at least you aren't alone, amirite?

I like free speech. But I think there's a line when "your religion is wrong" becomes justification for persecution and/or murder. When it comes to Abrahamic religion there are plenty of examples of exactly that, and a 2,000 year track record of people acting on it. Even so I prefer moral suasion over legislation, but I'm not gonna get bent out of shape if Abrahamites finally get some much deserved comeuppance either way.

Interesting page. I've bookmarked it, because at the very least I like to try and understand philosophies from the viewpoint of their proponents rather than purely from the hostile witness of their detractors.
Off hand though I find it funny that it claims Gandhi as a fascist. There are a lot of people who claim him as an anarchist too. Presumably if a person wants to they can cherry pick some words or concept to make it seem like any given famous person supports their ideological position.
For the sake of argument though, this is what Gandhi had to say when discussing the merits of private vs public property.

I think what has more to do with it is the advent of international corporations and central banks managed via global conglomerates like the federal reserve, IMF and world bank. The globalist oligarchs use nation states as pawns in their money and power manipulation, and bear no respect for nor allegiance to anyone's laws (except maybe Israel). I also personally think that Abrahamic religion has a lot to do with it simply because it's universalist by nature and tries to actively erode any cultural identity which isn't rooted in their inane Jewish fairy tales.
Pagans of yore were quite hospitable to each other and far from xenophobic, but that doesn't mean they lacked a fierce connection to their own distinct cultural identities, nor the will to maintain and defend them as such. In that sense even as a self-professed anarchist I'm quite encouraged to see the rise of ethnonationailsm around the world, particularly when it comes part and parcel with the resurrection of Pagan ethnic religious identity. The national cultural identity if properly merged with the Pagan ethos of mutual tolerance and respectful exchange, is in my view a good recipe to right the ship on the global scale. When people start taking more pride in their own distinctness, they'll be far better prepared to tell the globalists to fuck off.
This being said, I'm also a firm believer in the right to secession for the same reason. If you have an ethnic majority in a certain area who consider that their ancestral homeland, they have every right to secede from any nation state which declares they own said territory and tries to impose foreign laws and customs on the people. I would take that not simply down to the level of ethnos, but even to the level of the individual to the extent that's practical. If a culture doesn't have a compelling enough narrative to keep people aligned with it, then it needs to be replaced with something that does, by/for the people concerned, not the economic interests of some oligarchs from on high.

Everyone venerates their ancestors. Even Christians who leave flowers at the graves of their family members, even if they claim when anyone else does so it's "necromancy". Saying that is like claiming that water is wet.
The Scandinavians in particular weren't xenophobic. They travelled the entire planet more than arguably any other people before had done. And they traded. If there was nothing of value to be had by interacting with other foreign cultures, they'd have stayed at home. Moreover in works like the Heimskringla (Ynglinga Saga) it talks about how in Swithiod (ie. Sweden) there are "many races of men, and many kinds of languages" and "there are also blue men" (ie. Tuareg, called that because of their tagelmusts died blue with indigo). In part 3 of the Prologue to the Prose Edda, Thor's father is said to be Múnón or Mennón (aka: Memnon, king of Ethiopia), who fought on the side of Troy in Homer's Illiad and a later work called the Aethiopica. We're hardly talking about insular people who had no hospitable interactions with outsiders.
Also if you read the Illiad, you'll note that the people who allied with each other in that war epic were from practically every known race of people of that time period, and they are all described with the utmost respect. The Scandinavians (aka: Hyperboreans) featured in Greek myth, with two of their priestesses being given almost God-like status when they died and were interred on the sacred island of Delos where Apollo was born (Herodotus, Histories, book 4). You even have a burial shrine in Athens (the Kerameikos archaeological site) dedicated to a Buddhist/Sramana monk (Zarmanochegas) from India dating to roughly 19 BCE. It was famous enough to be featured in Plutarch's Life of Alexander, as well as works by Dio Cassius and Strabo. The references in Greek philosophy to "gynosophists" (ie. Hindu holy men) are numerous, and with the utmost respect. One of the preeminent holy men of Hellenism Apollonius of Tyana is said to have studied with them. In fact Buddhism itself was pioneered by Greeks in Gandhara Pakistan, with some of the earliest Buddhist scriptures written by Greeks and predating the Pali canon. It was not a one-way exchange of philosophies.

What I'm espousing is essentially Classical Liberalism, which predates Marxism by up to a few centuries. I also identify as an Anarchist, which historically has been explicitly opposed to Marxist doctrines (eg. the Marx-Bakunin conflict). My personal experience also contradicts the racist notions that everyone who's not a "white person" is somehow genetically, intellectually or culturally inferior. You can't really study history or philosophy and come away with that sort of idea. Much less if you actually travel around and interact with people of different cultures, and experience the various social strata of each, including your own. Also being Pagan, cultivating a strong ancestral cultural identity is the prevailing norm. Being able to appreciate other cultures and be friendly towards others as a rule doesn't preclude having a strong sense of identity one's self. That said, I'm not trying to LARP as one of my ancestors. I live in the present day. I reject the kind of xenophobic myopia you're espousing.

Well, kinda. I'm mostly of Anglo-Saxon stock, with a bit of French and Slavic from my mother's side. Culturally I grew up in a typical "Leave it to Beaver" style Anglican community. But my Grandparents who raised me had over 50 foster children from a variety of backgrounds, and adopted my mom and 2 aunts. My one aunt was from an Italian background and the other Tsalagi/Cherokee (from the 60's scoop). The latter was still a teen when I was growing up, so was more like a big sister than an aunt. And we had lots of the foster kids come through the house periodically to reconnect, in large part because it was the only stable, loving home they'd ever had, however briefly. I also lived in Toronto for a long time, and my friend circle there looked like the United Nations for all intents and purposes. Still does. Never had much problem because of race issues, except for the odd time with street gangs, but that's a problem everywhere, and certainty doesn't indemnify "white people" in the slightest either. The biggest issue I've had around race related issues isn't actually because of race, but because of the fucking woke ideology, and that's only been the case within the past 10 years or so, particularly when I started socialising with left-wing activists around the time of Occupy. I still managed to make friends with people from a variety of backgrounds, equally sick of the race baiting bullshit as I am.

Personally I get along better with people from all manner of backgrounds within my community than I ever did with members of my family. Blood in my experience means jack shit. Maybe if I already lived in an insular genetically homogeneous society with strong cultural roots and identity I'd feel differently, but I don't. The closest I've come to that is the Pagan community, which is ridiculously diverse, and still manages to treat each other with mutual dignity, hospitality and respect. The differences between people have to do with narcissism and other aberrant psychoses, not their cultural or ethnic background. Not even in the slightest.

Personally I believe in reciprocity (aka: what goes around comes around). If you treat other people with contempt and cause them problems, they will reciprocate eventually. That's why I believe some basic rights must be equal, otherwise it's simply a recipe for a cycle of violence and oppression, which swings back and forth like a pendulum depending on relative power dynamics. The issue I see with "rights" is that it comes in roughly two forms, which seem to inherently conflict with each other.
The first form of right/responsibility is, take "No." for an answer in respect to others' person and property.
The second form of right/responsibility is, from each according to their ability, to each according to their need.
I feel that the main issue with the first form of right is the definition of "property" and what if any limits should exist on it's acquisition so as not to effectively enslave others. The problem with the second is how you define "need" and the fact that if this is enforced involuntarily, it's essentially a mandate to rob the productive citizens to supply the needs of the unproductive. I do think there's middle ground, but I don't know that there's necessarily a consistent universal formula for that. However on the subject of private vs public property and how to manage the interaction between the two, I really appreciate Elinor Ostrom's work (based on thousands of real world case studies both historical and contemporary).

What I find especially interesting about Euclidean geometry is the problems which can't be solved with it. For instance creating a regular heptagon, trisecting an arbitrary angle, squaring the circle, etc. Looking at the line and circle as classic analogies for masculine and feminine, or energy and matter, or strife and love, or difference and similarity, or yang and yin, or other analogous concepts, those unsolved problems symbolise a kind of spiritual dimension. That no matter how powerful our tools of understanding, there will always exist some problems which they are ill suited to solve, and some mysteries which defy our inquiry.

Insofar as I concede the concept, I tie it to the hedonic experience of pain vs pleasure. Pain is the stick, whereas pleasure the carrot, which urge us to do the acts of living (eg. biological need vs satisfaction). In their psychic expression, pain becomes fear, and pleasure becomes desire, which provide the temporal aspect of our motivations. You can't remove or denigrate the painful from the pleasurable. Certainly one is obviously more desirable, but both are necessary and mutually temper each other to produce a balanced organism. Go too far in either direction and it becomes unwholesome and unhealthy (eg. mistaking desire for need).
By contrast, evil is just fear porn born of infantile superstitions, though in a non-religious light you could use it as a category to lump together all the things which are not conducive to the health of the organism it's community, biosphere, etc. Even so, what one organism or group of organisms might consider evil in this context, may very well be extremely different and even contradictory with another. Ultimately what's important isn't their myopic characterisations of experience, but the harmonious equilibrium they eventually manifest through reciprocity.

To some extent. But then you also have all kinds of examples in Russia where Asians and Europeans have interbred and created unique cultures. In North America you have the Metis, who were Scottish, Irish and French settlers who intermarried with Indigenous people and formed their own distinct culture. Everywhere you have groups of different people living side by side, you find some group of people who starts to form on the edge between them with a fusion of their characteristics eventually becoming a distinct society. In fact, if you look at any human society, you'll find that originally that's precisely how it came to exist whatsoever, even as far back as the merger between Neanderthals, Denisovians and Homo-whatever, etc. You can no more impose an artificial barrier between people than you can hold back the tides with a cheesecloth.

A bit of a tangent, but Hellenic philosophy places a lot of emphasis on the idea of "the One" (basically a precursor of monotheism/monism). The important thing to bear in mind is that it's more aptly described as "the many acting as one". I prefer to characterise "unity" or "oneness" instead as "wholeness" for this reason.
Take consciousness for instance. In order to be conscious whatsoever there must be an apparent difference at least between observer and observed, or comparison and choice between difference and similarity. In my formulation comparison, choice, similarity and difference all mutually prerequisites for each others' existence and for consciousness to exist whatsoever. In fact consciousness is effectively the reciprocity between those 4 principals, out of which is given rise the ability to distinguish "kinds" (ie. types, categories, groups, etc). Consequently, there can be no such thing as absolute indivisible unity which is also conscious. Rather there must be a diversity which has "wholeness" through the reciprocity of interaction between it's many different parts.
Absolute unity would be like a uniform lump of clay, versus all the different tissues and organs, etc, which join to cooperate in the process of being a human body.
The below is kinda similar in concept also, but alludes further to the idea that a human life cannot exist independent of the prerequisites for it's existence (warmth, air, water, earthly substance, reproduction, etc), or in other words, the biosphere as a whole. So we are never truly independent, but are more aptly like cells within the body of a larger organism, which itself exists as a cell within a larger organism, and so on, and on, and on.

Yeah. I agree with that for the most part. Many of the inhabitants of the USA were at war with each other, or otherwise had some kind of violent power imbalance, just a few generations ago, and in some cases still present day. That doesn't really make for a very unified society. On the other hand, even the nations of the modern day Haudenosaunee were involved in centuries of war between each other prior to the confederacy being formed. There was an honour code that required that if someone killed a member of another nation, then the people of that nation were required to kill or kidnap someone in retaliation. In plenty of cases it also involved cannibalism. But eventually people got sick and tired of that cycle of violence, and at the instigation of one of their chiefs (Hiawatha) and a foreign spiritual leader (Deganawida, possibly from among the Huron-Wendat), they managed to form a social movement to bring peace to their nations. It's a really interesting legend. The long and short of it though is 1,000 years of peace between them, and consequently their influence upon the formation of the USA from the formerly warring American colonies. What the American system left out however was gender and racial equality, which as anyone can see readily for themselves, continues to be a fundamental source of conflict to this day.

Personally I like the idea of diversity for a number of reasons. First off, any person familiar with plant or animal husbandry can tell you why diversity is important. It creates resilient ecosystems with self-sustaining fertility. Similarly anyone who has an investment portfolio. Same reason in both cases. But to me diversity means everyone maintains their own separate unique cultural identity without having it dissolve in a melting pot under the influence of the larger society. They may share certain common features which maintain peace between them, but individually they are quite different.
In the case of the Haudenoasaunee's constitutional democracy (which is the oldest which still exists on Earth), it didn't involve any of the confederate nations giving up their unique identity. They agreed to a common set of rules to govern their international cooperation, but individually continue to govern their nations autonomously from each other. Notwithstanding the imposition of colonial "band council" puppet governments tasked with providing the illusion of consultation and consent with colonial laws, and to embezzle treaty funds... But I digress.
Even within each nation of the Haudenosaunee, as is also true of other neighbouring indigenous groups, while you have the over-arching national laws which govern the whole people, you also have individual clans (eg. Turtle clan, Bear clan, Wolf clan, Eagle clan, etc, etc, etc) within that which also individually have their own laws, customs, languages, and genealogies. However for the Ojibwe for instance, a member of one clan is not allowed to marry a member of the same clan, but is required to marry some one outside clan in order to prevent congenital birth defects from inbreeding, and to discourage infighting between clans (people are less likely to wage war against their own relatives). To my knowledge that's also true among the Haudenosaunee, and many other indigenous groups for the same reasons.
Eliminating diversity is like reducing the whole spectrum of music down to just a single note, all the variety of spoken languages down to a single guttural utterance "Ugh!", all the colours of paint on a pallet to just black on white, all the recipes of gourmet cuisine to just bread and water, etc. Variety is the spice of life!
