Nations are losing power at an unprecedented level.
Companies are already portraying their power over nations wherever they can, they will continue to do so.
Perhaps they will use Bitcoin as a tool to finally separate money from the state, after that it will be much easier to separate money from companies, too.

Huh thank you for this lost! Somehow Himalayas were not directly on my lost, but together with Bhutan 🧐 could be smart!
Interestingly I've been in Costa Rica and have to agree with you that it is indeed a big highlight, nature and wildlife wise!
I'll add Australia to my lost again and pump Africa higher up on my list!
Let me recommended you Guadeloupe, if you haven't been there already. For me as an European the benefits are real (Schengen area, means no hard immigration control at the airport, no change of local money or even mobile internet, its like home), but outside of that, there is a very high standard compared to other caribbean islands, super safe, beautiful nature in forests and beaches, no snakes(!) but no crazy wildlife overall.
Might be worth a look :)

Regarding Costa Rica:
We had a very pleasant experience so far and enjoyed every second and every interaction with the locals,
but we just were on the 155 to Brasilito and I was just waved over by a pig in a uniform.
They said there was no problem and didn't need any documents from me, but he showed me a paper, asking if I'd like to contribute to the repair of his police vehicle with a friendly but very firm look...
So I handed out my last 20k CRC bill (I have smaller left, so I am not broke) and he didn't even say a word but walked over to wave over another tourist car coming from the other side...
Unfortunately I and my SO feel a quite violated and insecure about this...
Did we had the Option to say "no"??
Can somebody help me for the next time?
I didn't want them to do who knows what to us...
In short, nice country, nice people, corrupt cops...

Its funny until your country gets invaded because its not the strongest player or sink into chaos because, well, just wait and you will see.
And we will see if the free world will remember the actions of USA by then or if they will show the S of A by being better than them.
I strongly recommend against bully behavior, cooperation leads always to the best results. Bitcoin should have reached you this already.

I am going to ask each and everyone if they accept BTC when I am there, around la fortuna and Guanacaste (but OFC will have the local FIAT available if they do not).

I guess it will get massive adoption when the underlying technology gets invisible.
Nobody wants to configure network connections and sync stuff but everyone want collaborative coding/authoring for codes/docs and cloud shared saves of data. When that becomes as easy as google drive/office integration, nostr has won and Bitcoin with it.
