You just made my point: if L1 is too expensive for retail to use, the security budget would get paid by the few who can afford it (whales, banks, states). Is that what Bitcoin is about?
The peasants use banks L2 channels and L1 is controlled by them?
industrial miners PAY suppliers n takes LOAN 99.99% in USD
they NEVER become PART circular economy
check dollar hash index later
agree with that - incentives in SATS for hashing at the ending phase
XMR did is LOW unlimited emission to tackle n incentivize hashing
nearly all pow chains give EARLY MINERS parabolic adopting reward late comer always bitch about it.
but fiat dollar euro jpy has NO direction RELATION
next year $ get reset for example old 10000= new 1
so BTC when seen fiat also revalued in new dollar
no-chain REWARD - you are right
offchain USD terms nobody say future.
This assumes zero fee growth. L1 fees will rise as L2s settle. DCAing to cold storage today is how you accumulate before mainnet block space becomes too expensive for retail by 2048.
It's just a way to visualize the massive flaw on mining incentives.
FIAT no direct co-relation with on-chain stuff
Bitcoin's security budget is a bet on price.
Let's talk about what secures Bitcoin: the block reward = subsidy + fees.
Fees? Currently under 1% of the total block reward (lightning solves this huh 😉).
For the current mining incentives to survive, price must double every halving.
So here's the honest question, bitcoiners: do you really think Bitcoin will hit $4.16M per coin by 2048 or does the security budget slowly die while you stack sats?
One of those futures is real. Pick.
