Cash is only supposed to maintain a relative value, it’s supposed to depreciate, or appreciate slowly, reliably, & predictably.
Miners are crucial since they are both full nodes, & block creators, most miners that operate do so because they gain in either fiat, or Bitcoin terms, while some may altruistically mine, or mine to include only their transactions, most mine to seek a profit of some sorts.
Then why is there lightning if ten minutes is good enough (it’s also not always reliably 10 minutes either, fees, etc.)
Tail emissions fixes the fee problem.
But yet other blockchains, protocols, etc. are working on the solutions, yes right now it’s all theoretical until it isn’t but it’s better to try to make preventative measures to slow it down than to do nothing, & wait.

I didn't know you did that. That is really fortunate, cuz yeah, I don't think a normal person would be able to pull all that you described off. Not easily, anyway.
How to obtain knowledge
The best way is through experience and the best kind of experience is personal. Nothing beats this method. I guess you had to be there. Second best way is to learn how others do it. Because personal experience is somehow limited, you try to peek at other people, dead or alive.
Dead poets write shit down. You get to read them just in case their experience is relevant to you. There's a hidden reason on why you should learn about them if they cross your path. You'll understand why later on your journey.
The living are the most interesting to me because you can have meaningful interactions with them. The dead are always better, taller, braver and so on. This should not discourage you to engage with them through their writings. They answer back if you learn how to listen. In fact they're waiting for your call. That's the reason they wrote stuff in the first place, the worthy ones anyway.

The Sooner Knots/BIP 110 debate gets done the sooner we can move onto fixing Bitcoin by more it more scalable, faster, lower fee, miner compensation, quantum resistant, & private.
Either way, Knots/BIP 110 is a distraction that delays the crucial updates Bitcoin needs.
Z-cash, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, and Monero are all proof that Bitcoin can work well but for some reason people want to keep sabotaging it, and holding it back.
Neither NIPs or NostrHub are a good solution to the problem that Nostr specifications are a disorganized mess.
Reinventing the wheel every time in different ways is harmful to the development of the protocol.
This has already been solved by basically every other protocol by making a standards body, but somehow we have failed to do this on Nostr.
One should also exist on Nostr, ideally with the following properties:
- It should be open for anyone to participate, but with some commitments.
- Members should in general be required to participate on a lot of topics, to prevent drive-by slop.
- Maybe a small membership fee to cover the hosting of the infrastructure and to again prevent drive-by slop.
- A process for discussing and creating standards should exist, that is not too restrictive but does offer some resistance.
- There should be bylaws to prevent bad-faith actors and to ensure the main goals do not get derailed.
Or maybe something like the C2SP.
That's a bummer. Try reading and expanding your horizon. Not to mention that you can experience lots of things by yourself to see if it's bullshit or not. The hard part is always admitting you're wrong.
Take bitcoin for example. Because they think they know what money is, financiers disregard it because it doesn't fit their worldview.

Yep, but you don’t need much advice. You will instinctively discover what to do. The best suggestion I can offer you is to take a lot of pictures and video (I know you will, of course) and write down all the funny things they say so you can read it back to them when they get older. Maybe even create a Nostr profile for it. They’ll love it.
