I'd say that unconsciusness sometimes could be a beneficial if it comes to partyjng hard or living the high life on credit. It's kinda protective shield (to some degree).
The more interesting part here is trying to achieve an expansion semi-conciously. Think (sub-)cultural norms. As any expanse beyond what we can sustain imply a future unknown cost.
Now I am not saying, don't do it. There are good reasons for a loan or a "trip" to break free or crack something up that's about to ripen anyway.
After all it's a free choice. What many still need to come to terms with is that any free choice is immensly powerful. So choose wisely.
We here are freedom fighters, but are we also in the business of deepening and expanding consciousness in everyday life? Because growing one without the other is a potential recipe for disaster and therefore a pretext for any authoritarian.
