This seems to be a huge part of the gains of new models. Smarter models are just doing way more reasoning than older ones. Kimi writes a damn book for even basic tasks. Reading and it is often going over the same ideas multiple times refining.
So the models aren't that much smarter so much as they let you throw more compute at the problem before spitting out an answer.

Reuters reports that the U.S. and South Korea are cutting the duration and scope of the Ulchi Freedom Shield exercise following President Donald J. Trump’s order to Secretary of War Pete Hegseth to substantially reduce U.S. participation.
The exercise, which began Aug. 17, will now end Aug. 21 rather than Aug. 27. The allies are also scaling back some field maneuvers, with portions of the planned second phase reportedly being canceled and some live-fire training events either canceled or shifted to simulations.
U.S. and South Korean officials say the changes will preserve the exercise’s essential readiness objectives, while North Korea has condemned the drills as provocative regardless of their reduced size.
On Sunday, President Trump took to Truth Social to order the reduction citing his “very good relationship” with Kim Jong Un, while Reuters reports that the administration is also seeking to reopen direct diplomacy with Pyongyang. The Wall Street Journal has reported that Trump’s aides are pushing for a meeting with Kim as early as this fall.
South Korean officials said they were not informed in advance of President Trump’s order.

People are too dumb and passive to do anything about it yet. I can't do anything on my own. We've had lone Wolf martyrs like Tim McVey who have tried to strike the government in the eye. All they accomplish in sacrificing themselves is for the government to react by becoming even more oppressive. Look how much worse things got after 9/11. I don't care to sacrifice myself this way. I can't do anything individually to change the way things are. If things are not changing then realistically the best course of action is to take advantage of what I can so that I am not getting ass fucked paying for somebody else to take advantage.
