We struck out hard at almost all the things we planned on yesterday. The booya was already sold out by the time we got there. The craft fair where I intended to visit a coworker was filled with a bunch of ....well, Hubby put it, "my anti-people". And I couldn't even find her. And then we went to a small farmer's market nearby where I got a delicious honey vanilla latte, but then Hubby got mad at me ("too much kitschy crap") for buying a $3 little key chain that said, "Crazy Plant Lady". Sigh.
I did get some canning cucumbers and fresh dill and made some refrigerator pickles. Very excited to see how they turn out. I only had ground versions of most of the ingredients for the pickling spices, so I'm a little worried I overdid it. We'll see in a week or two!

gm i woke up and visually saw nostr as the public streets and lands around the world, and i saw every single app occupying a plot of land on pieces of that, whether it is FB, YT, reddit, craigslist, it was all a tiny piece on this vast landscape. like a star in the sky. we are all so used to being stuck on this tiny piece of life, yet there are so many options. the world seemed bigger. the follow count seemed smaller though, but stronger, more supportive. these tiny tribes or circles or communities engaging with each other, a shared experience, rather than parasocial relationships. the dynamic is changing and the monopoly of people is the challenge to maintain in the "traditional standards" of social media, or maybe we are going back to the likes of those message boards and aol days. maybe we are simply taking back what was supposed to be and give the Hello, World a new meaning. Exploration, Travel, Education, and Curated Communities to Build Real Networks that you can grow with.
