A lot of bitcoiners who think that spam helps (bad) mining pools/miners to get more fees but free market is screaming at us and showing that spam doesn't help with fees.
In fact, almost all of the block space is being filled with a lot of garbage and mining pools'/miners' main source of income is still block subsidy (aka 3.125 bitcoin/block mined). Moreover, it's increasing the cost of running your own full node.
Do not forget that spammers are exploiting legitimate bug in the #bitcoin script to add garbage data and rationalizing it with "it helps miners/mining pools" or "They are valid transactions".
As @npub16s0…8ky6 said before, "The economic impact inscriptions have on fees is completely irrelevant to whether they are a bug or not. If there were zero inscriptions ever and the bug was never exploited and never impacted fees, it would still be an unpatched bug that should be addressed. My attitude towards inscriptions won't change with the weather of fees. If mempool cleared and blocks weren't full, I'd still say inscriptions are a bug that need to be patched.
There are many bugs in bitcoin which have zero economic impact on the network, because they just aren't that kind of bug. Even if a bug has no economic impact, its still a bug. You should not be thinking about bitcoin in terms of "at X sat/vb its a bug, but at Y sat/vb its not."

Happy Pentecost @npub1v9v…tqnj and to all my fellow believers in the Messiah, and to those who do not (yet) believe!
If you know the story (see the Book of the Acts of the Apostles, chapter 2), then you know that this is the appropriate emoji: 🔥
Traditionally, Pentecost also has a connection to when God's people Israel left Egypt and received the covenant at Mt. Sinai. I'm not Catholic, but this is a great explanation:
https://kcsjcatholic.org/2019/06/the-day-of-pentecost/
I appreciate that the Catholic and Orthodox churches (although there is really only one Church) pay more attention to things like this (I mean Church traditions) than most Evangelical churches do anymore. If you don't believe me, just see if your Protestant church even mentions that it is Pentecost today at church.
However, since the Orthodox Easter only just took place 2 weeks ago, their Pentecost will take place on June 23, 2024. This raises the question of which churches are celebrating Pentecost on the correct day? (not that it is so important a matter that we should divide over it.) I do wish we could settle on which date is correct, if either one, since the 2000th birthday of the Church is coming up in just a few years, in A.D. 2033 (if we have correctly dated the year of our Lord's death and resurrection).
Happy birthday, Church!

I agree. When I think of how I would make a p2p dex platform, the app would be just a map, like https://btcmap.org, then users would create trades based on location, and the users are expected to take a trade, go to the location, and exchange the asset (BTC, XMR) for cash, face to face. Not only this simplifies the experience, also solves the issues of trusting digital transfers, banks, etc, and could probably be gamified to look like Uber, Pokemon GO, then it's just a matter of having the app on your phone, and being like "I am going to the mall, I wonder if a XMR trader will be there so I can just take some Monero and after trading make my purchases with Cash there" or vice versa, with the goal to also build strong connections closer to you as we never know how many around us actually want to participate in the same system or not

Here's your summary from Robert Costello: It was Cohen's idea to 'take care of this' (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AbUQnlxRGtM) on the Fox News channel:
**TLDR:** Robert Costello discusses his representation of Michael Cohen, highlighting that Cohen took sole responsibility for the Stormy Daniels NDA and was not encouraged by Donald Trump.
1. Robert Costello reveals that Michael Cohen took the initiative to handle the Stormy Daniels NDA without involvement from Donald Trump, in an attempt to regain favor with Trump's inner circle.
2. Costello emphasizes that prosecutors failed to present all exculpatory evidence, including emails that contradicted Cohen's testimony, potentially leading to subornation of perjury.
3. Costello suggests that Cohen may have been using the situation to monetize, pointing out the timing of Cohen's upcoming book release coinciding with potential indictments.

I don’t have a particular sales platform for my work. I have always worked independently, across media, and mainly through commissions. As a result, my web presence, especially in relation to the public live art and performance work that I have historically perhaps been most visible for, has always remained more archival than promotional…
But the link to my archive, and the various other documentation platforms it is connected to, is in my profile…
The things I share here are usually simply fragments and debris from my work and process, as they happen or return to me… And the key word there is probably ‘share’, as they are simply offered here as part of the public conversation, without the expectation of a return… For better or worse, my experience is that, unless you a have a particular and recognisable ‘product’, this is not a space were interest easily translates into any real support…
That said, I do have rules about what I share, in that the fragments I post here are in some way all part of my own physical and live work… Unless otherwise stated, any visuals you see from me here will be mine, original, and directly made not generated…
You can find the two main process threads I’m currently working and sharing through via the tags #smalldilemmas and #smallpiecesofeverything
And hopefully, once in a while, something I drop here will help to open up something for others also…

Three weeks ago I wrote an article on the EU's new AMLR in Bitcoin Magazine, detailing how the EU passed ALM laws restricting the use of Bitcoin privacy tools without any data to back up their claims that privacy heightens money laundering and terrorist financing risks.
Alex Stachtchenko took it a step further and ran the numbers. For every Euro confiscated, 200€ are spent. This means that the EU's AML compliance costs of 144B Euro exceeds all money ascribed to crime per year at 110B Euro – and still, 99% of criminal profits escape confiscation.
Despite their absolute inefficiency AML laws continue to be expanded, subjecting all EU citizens to total financial surveillance for the price of catching 1%. It is a system that has grown completely out of control and is in no way proportionate to the right to privacy enshrined in the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union, the UN's Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
It's a long read, and its in French so you'll need to translate it, but I guarantee that it will be worth every minute of your time.

Much easier, just take the hash and replace the domain of the blossom server, so I just did that. The way the Blossom protocol works is that if there is no file on your Blossom server, it will ask other Blossom servers for the file, and once it finds it, it will store it on yours, then your server will respond to others requesting the file, and so on.

Cannes Film Festival Review: ‘Jim Henson Idea Man’ is a Loving Tribute to a Creative Genius
==========
The documentary 'Jim Henson Idea Man' is a loving tribute to Jim Henson, the creative genius behind the Muppets. The film, directed by Ron Howard, debuted at the Cannes Film Festival and will be released on Disney+. It explores Henson's life and work, from his early years on local television to his iconic creations like Kermit the Frog. The documentary features interviews with Henson's family and collaborators, including Frank Oz. It also includes rare footage of Henson's early projects. 'Jim Henson Idea Man' is a must-watch for Muppet fans and a great introduction to Henson's work for newcomers. The film is visually appealing and offers a fresh perspective on Henson's legacy.

In addition to my previous commentary, the bird is a kingfisher, and as the name implies, it would be fair to assume that with a name like that, he knows a thing or two about fishing.
But look at that landscape, it's barren, no rivers, no lakes.
We may assume that the kingfisher travelled to this desolate place merely to impart his advice, which further strengthens the case for cooperating with him.
He knows where the rivers are.
Rivers have fish to eat, and we can make our way to the ocean.
Starting to really like this bird man.
I feel bad for suggesting torture in the previous comment, but you can never rule it out, we need a wide toolbelt when we are relying on our lonesome.

Capture the bird. First of all he talks, you can trade that for essentials and thus offset some of the implied uncertainty.
I have a feeling, just a gut feeling, nothing concrete, that the bird knows of treasure and where to find it, so maybe you could either torture him and get it out of him, or cooperate.
He seems willing enough to dole out advice, so there is a good chance he will cooperate, maybe put torture on the back-burn.
But yeah, cool.

If you started early then yeah stacking at all costs is kinda silly and just a rounding error at some point, and maybe you competing with yourself or want to get to some nice round number for some reason and I guess that's one motivation
Building wealth is only one part of the game, then it's how do you preserve it, use it wisely and create something that generates more wealth for everyone, like a business, investing in your own or someones ideas or talents.
The game goes deeper than stacking.

On the evening of that first day of the week,
when the doors were locked, where the disciples were,
for fear of the Jews,
Jesus came and stood in their midst
and said to them, "Peace be with you."
When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side.
The disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord.
Jesus said to them again, "Peace be with you.
As the Father has sent me, so I send you."
And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them,
"Receive the Holy Spirit.
Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them,
and whose sins you retain are retained."✌️💜🕊️

All bitcoiners talk about opportunity cost, eating noodles and keeping your old underwear to stack more. I did this. I'm seven years in now and stacked as hard as I possibly could, left nothing on the table. But recently I've hit a limit. It feels like that scarcity mindset stage has reached it's useful conclusion. I'll still sweep excess into corn but the absolute focus on stacking is done for me. The longer you stack the less difference it makes and this alters your priorities. Life has opportunity cost too, no matter how much corn you end up with, you can't go back in time with it. I'm starting to spend on what I value not just what I need. I think once you've done the work and made the sacrifices for your stack, think hard about what comes next.

Here's your summary from Is there a 'miracle pill' for obesity? (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5HvgEWuCCs) on the Fox News channel:
**TLDR:** The video discusses the connection between metabolism and chronic conditions, the financial incentives in the healthcare system, and the impact of pharmaceutical companies on public health.
1. The video highlights the link between metabolic dysfunction and chronic conditions such as cancer, diabetes, infertility, and depression.
2. It exposes the financial incentives in the healthcare system that profit from keeping people sick rather than promoting health.
3. Pharmaceutical companies are criticized for pushing lifetime drugs like Ozempic® for children with obesity, potentially bankrupting the healthcare system.

Welp. It was a good listen until you guys started shitting on capitalism. You are both smart dudes, you should realize that on a scale where 0 is capitalism and 100 is socialism, the current system is HEAVILY geared towards 100 right? Let me give you a couple of reasons as to why it is so:
1) Money is 50% of all transactions. If the price of money is being manipulated the central planners, then the free market price discovery is broken by default
2) Any and all government subsidies, interventions, regulations prevent free markets from functioning
3) In a world where your average total tax burden is about 40%, time theft on a grand scale and subsequent (centrally planned) misallocation of resources should be obvious - whether you agree with the statement "taxation id theft" or not
4) The devaluation of money incentives spending instead of saving, making all participants in the market more susceptible to buying shit they don't need
5) The devaluation of money ALSO incentives "investing," whether the investment makes sense or not (case in point: GME, shitcoins, government bonds) and a "growth at all costs" mentality in which all that matters is profit, not actual value added to society
6) Perpetual government deficits would not even be possible in a truly capitalist system - governments, like bankrupt private enterprises and insolvent banks, would have to default
(My apologies if you touched on any of those points later in the pod, I turned it off a few minutes after you got into the subject)
Peace ✌️
