Which is the normie app / client? I'll try it out haha and as a normie it was the first app I found that was being recommended for being modern and fully featured so I went with it.
I suspect these are the things that will come to light if you get a bunch of normies and just tell them "create a Nostr account, login, then find a meme or funny post" without any further guidance or push in a certain way.

Amethyst is definitely for power users. You could try Wisp, which is another good Android client. It's definitely aimed at a more casual user base, and a lot of people like it.
I'm not sure if you can make relay groups, I think it's just viewed individually.
If you live on a ridgeline in that part of the world (many do), you're looking at days of travel to reach a store 20km away (as the crow flies). And unless you're growing opium or similar high-value-density goods, you won't have any money to buy.

Imagine if with family relays you could set them as a backup relay. It could keep a backup of your sister & vice versa, in case one goes down. If your PC dies you just replace it and restore yours from your families relays copies.
Sorry, I don't use Amethyst so I'm not sure how to do anythign in it. I tried it once and I realized it's not a good normie client - only for advanced users.
Seems like a good feature set, kinda surprised it's not already implemented.

Amethyst is very sensory overload with 1,000's of settings, pages, etc and drops your right in not knowing what to do.

Best way to refine Nostr for normies is get a normie friend that uses X and IG religiously and sit them down and force them (pay them with food and beer) to create a Nostr account and then have them find one meme or funny post but don't help them at all. Just observe the pain points they experience and focus to work those out until you have a super simple seamless social media experience. And then once you have the new happy user in this Nostr ecosystem without any pains, the tools are already built in to give them incredible power to further curate their Nostr experience whenever theyre ready and/or comfortable.
While I have y'all here.. Is there a way to combine different favorite relays merged into one "view" in Amethyst?
I’d say keep it the same for cohesion, although I do want to see the diamond pattern. I also like Daniel’s all black idea. So my final answer: we’re gonna need three different chairs!
