on the bright side it seems to me like the number of accounts that have it enabled has grown well. Entirely anecdotal but I just seem to find more journalists and others to follow from there than ever.
I do remain just as sceptical about their intentions unless this feature becomes popular enough for them to think twice before killing it at some point.
