The signature is the domain, and maybe like a key from your server to match for you http request on whether or not it fullfills it.
If your instance is blocked, your signature will match their blocklist and you won't pull the resource in other words you won't pull their post and you'll see a thread with a reply going to an untagged user.
there's ways around this but I don't want to have to start resorting to using them. I've had some interactions with the .wtf admin before I might ask in the future he'd be willing to peer again. But don't hold your breath, I've had people slam the door on me even when I'm cordial.
