The other problem is, lots of ROMs have jank shit/broken stuff (I've had phones where the camera is invisible even after flashing the OG rom back), and you need to abuse exploits like it's a PS4/5 to even flash your phone.

So if you don't get the Google Pixel (tm), you need to have a phone with a specific old firmware or an exploit for it to load a custom ROM.

Samshits are basically no-go nowadays (and you lose some stuff like VoLTE, important in the USA), LG is dead, HTC is a zombie, chinkphones are either good for this or undocumented as hell (pick one), and you have to pay for the overpriced Moto Unlocked phones to have the luxury of custom ROMs.

Android nowadays is ironically where the Google Pixels are the best supported custom ROM phones, and that's because as shit as Google is they originally sold the Nexus phones as "dev units" before making a splash in the mainstream (and still let you unlock Chromebooks).
