I wonder if you could find another neckline that you liked and copy the facings for that? There is definitely a knack to not getting the fabric to pull out with bias binding on the curves. Understitching helps, I should notch the allowance but I often just trim. Fabric is expensive! I got the linen second hand for 5$ and I have just discovered that ikea sells fabric (cotton, one sided prints, cheaper than fabricland here which has outrageous prices). I want to check out the fabric recycling here but their hours are limited. Nice find with the linen!
