You have 3 AAA titles is there ( MOHAA, Alice and RTCW ) with one of them being the first incarnation of one of the most successful franchises.
If I had to .. I'd have to say RTCW was the best .. but MOHAA was the one I enjoyed the most, and still think is the best of the whole franchise ..

Tomohiro Kusumi, a #NetBSD commiter, has been working for years on polishing and porting #Hammer2 to #NetBSD #FreeBSD and #OpenBSD
Personally though, I don't expect to see Hammer2 on FreeBSD or OpenBSD any time soon ( or at all ) ..
#NetBSD, in the other had, will get a fully working port of #Hammer2 once the work is done.

Be it for the manufacturer screwing up or lack of knowledge is irrelevant to the concept.
if they address the defect, then there's nothing to argue about.
If they can't, and thus provide a mitigation, then they would be liable for the detriment the mitigation may cause to consumer.

"Vulnerability" is just a "legal-marketing" euphemism to disclose a "latent defect" without the legal burden of having to acknowledge a "flaw" on a mass produce consumer product .. recall the whole lot or partially or totally reimburse the consumer.

@npub1t7d…pqpp @npub1ga8…7hxu this is pretty subjective, as it derives from personal experience, but in my case I found out that even if the client is on a particular agreement, in the end, this kind of episodes have a negative impact as they tends to diminish the quality of your craft on the eye of the client, ultimately leading them to believe that whatever it is that you do has no value, or at least, is not as valuable as they initially thought it was. Clients have an inherent tendency to undervalue

@npub1ga8…7hxu this. So much. Now you know the next time, solving the same problem will take no less than 4 hours of absolute downtime of all the systems, even those that are not involved.
If you don't do it for you, at the very least do it for them, so they can understand the underlying complexity of the issues at stake.
See .. this happens to every professional: if "you" can't make your work be respected and valued for what it is: "nobody" will.

The Berne Convention (1886) and the Paris Act of (1971) belong to a world that no longer exists and their reason to be has been lost in time.
I'm not saying "copyright" should be abolished. I'm saying #Copyright as we know it, is not sustainable anymore. It's an archaic notion that's been stalling knowledge democratization for humanity only for the sake of safeguarding the economic concentration of the precious few that are functional to the system
